ULEZ checker incorrect
Folks,
Anyone have experience/joy in correcting the data for the London ULEZ checker? Given it's likely it'll extend to cover where I live I thought I'd check...and it shows that my 2020 M340i is liable for the charge (it's not, surely, as it's Euro6 compliant and plugging in license plates from approved used M340is clearly show them as NOT liable for the charge). DVLA data show it as Euro6...so the issue doesn't seem to be that end. Have tried the 'contact us' links but no response as yet... Thanks |

Make sure you’re using the real TFL website rather than the ‘fake’ ones that come up with a Google search.

No - that’s me being stupid. The charge I’m seeing is the congestion charge, not the ULEZ charge. So it’s correct for my vehicle. I suggest you get a certificate of conformity and send them that so that they exempt your car.

Just to close this out... The CoC took a few days to come from BMW, and I submitted it along with V5C to TFL this morning - got the exemption approval back this afternoon.
I'm pretty sure that somewhere deep inside TFL's systems it still thinks I drive my old 330d (same plate, but would fail ULEZ) - even though I haven't had the car for two years ;-) |

From this page, and then following the instructions (to prove the car is exempt):

I went through all this with my 545e which very obviously meets the current legislation, and I travel to london fairly frequently.
It simply would not let me and said that the car was not to standard on their books, and I had to prove X,Y,&Z. As I was travelling within 12 hours I decided I must do something and started to fill in the account details - up to the point of inputting CC details (it was the correct site BTW) -, when I thought sod this, they must be joking. I also did the same with the link from the post above, and it came up that the car was know to be compliant and no need to take any action. Put in the reg number and that it was a 545e and as if by magic, it came up - you do not need to register this vehicle, we know its ULEZ compliant etc. I did a screen grab, printed it and keep it in the car now just in case. The left hand did not know what the right hand was doing.. Be aware many towns now have these areas - Birmingham, Bristol, Bath and many more, so do be aware of where you travel. |
