Have 2020 M340i. 2 quarts low message came on. First massage I have had. 27,000 miles, 8 months out of warranty. Oil measurement feature not working. Dealer drained oil to verify 2 quarts low. Finished oil change. No oil message, but oil measure does not work. Suggested new oil pump for $5,600. I left and went to independent BMW mechanic. He said I needed the celunoid and pressure sensor checked which is protocol diagnostic for this issue. He doesn’t think it needs oil pump. And dealer should cover cost based on mileage and length of time out of warranty. BMW NA has been no help telling me dealer said I should run until warning light comes on and bring it in again. The car has been running fine for a couple of months but measurement feature does not work. Any thoughts on this matter.
