Update from my previous post
I used the yellow Rain-X washer fluid the first time and it messed up my washer fluid level sensor. The warning for low washer fluid would not go away. I drove around and literally kept spraying my windshield until the tank was empty. I then filled it with the BMW washer fluid (purple one) and the next day, the low washer fluid went away. I was very lucky that I did not have to pay to change the sensor. The sensor sits inside the reservoir and the Rain-X fluid coats the sensor, causing it to think the reservoir is empty, even though it is not. I am sticking with the BMW washer fluid only from now. IDK guys, but I go through 40 gallons of Wal Mart Supertech purple and blue stuff each winter and never had issues on E70 and E90.
Ran Rain-X on E90 on a road trip, never had issues. |

Ok so I'll be honest I hate anything other than plain water in the washer fluid tank. I hate that when I go to use it, the water with these additives leaves marks on the paintwork when it dries - until you next wash the car. Water, is just water, and for me it's adequate to clean the windshield until I get home or stop and clean it properly.
Saying this, where I live is a warm climate and I only get rain, no snow/ice etc. |

I have my first BMW and luckily read this through before I needed any washer fluid. The other solution to having a clear windshield doesn’t seem to work with BMW’s either. I looked everywhere to see if PIAA makes a silicone wiper for my G20. Tirerack, Amazon, PIAA’s website, etc do not list a fitment for my car. Are BMW wipers also different from others? Anyone try to change them to non OEM?

I think I'll try the green next after a full cycle of blue and some more reading. |

Been using the Prestone fluids since I bought the car. It does say reason repellent, but o have not had issues with my sensor. Used the green and yellow versions of it.

I had this problem. Easy fix. Empty the tank and put Apple vinegar and a full kettle of boiling water in. Leave for 10 mins and try. That’s what works with me thank god.
