An expensive morning.
Had my G20 330i serviced this morning at a BMW Main Dealer, my bill:-
Oil change and filter, intake silencer service, microfilter service, spark plugs: Total £465 inc VAT Received email this morning from my Central heating supplier for last month to 10 Dec. Total for gas and electricity:£475 NB Previous month: £281. The big diff due to having to keep the heating on 24/7 over the last week of so to keep the family happy! What with the oncoming high inflation & interest rates there will be no big holidays next year that's for sure. In fact all is repeat of the 70's & 80's with the three day working week due to strikes and making my own wine and beer! Not happy days! |

I should have mentioned in my above post that whilst on the 24/7 the CH room thermostat was reduced from 20 deg C to 18 deg C.
I will have to cut out the 24/7 for sure but will keep at 18 deg C. |

This sudden very cold snap is really taking its toll if you live in an older property.
My 1950's Bungalow leaks heat compared to a modern house. Large picture windows and a flat roofed extension are the main areas of loss. We haven't even opened our large heavy curtains since the start of the low temps - as they help to reduce heat loss. An old Back-Boiler is also inefficient - although fantastically reliable. I'll just have to pay what ever it costs... Regards, Mike. |

I live in an older house Mike, built mid 30’s painted white rendered solid brick. no cavity walls with the main living part facing east at top o’ the hill overlooking a valley.
So, anything from the east and we get it, but none the less it is a cosy house which MBH much likes. Have decided that whilst this cold weather is about the CH will stay on 24/7 costing about £40/week extra on current cost. No prob! Got to keep warm and civilised! Cheers! |

AFAIK your warranty isn't affected by using an indy, provided they use genuine BMW parts but I'll check before I do anything. |

I do the BMW service plan, costs £25 a month covers next 2 services and 4 MOT's works out the same but just easier to manage.. dates mean nothing, covers the stated items regardless of when they are done but payments run for 36 months
