Oil changes and ultimate care plan
I finally received my MY m340i last week. Currently at the detailer, so I’m just been planning and prepping to enjoy this car.
I intend to keep it for a long time. I will be doing my own oil change after the break-in (~ 1200 - 2000 miles), and then oil changes every ~5000 miles depending on driving habits. Does anyone take advantage of the the ultimate care plan (free basic maintenance for 36k/3 yr) while also doing their own maintenance? And if you do, do you reset the oil change date after your own maintenance, or just let it run through for the dealership? I’m unsure if i did my own oil change and logged it in the car that the dealer would refuse to perform the free oil changes. |

I talked to my dealer about this when I ordered mine and they didn't have a problem with me doing oil changes at 5k, 15k, etc while they do them at 10k, 20k, etc under the basic maintenance plan. I have the same thinking in that I want to have the car a long time and don't like the idea of doing oil changes every 10k. I was thinking 7500 max between changes.

I have the ultimate+ plan, oil changes up until 75,000 miles and brakes.
I do my own oil change every 5k miles and take it in for it's scheduled oil change, they reset the service light when i take it in. been doing it since i got the car, never went past 5k oil changes.
