Fuel injector cleaner??

What are BMWs recommendations on fuel system cleaners like Liqui Moly DI Jectron - to clean injectors and reduce LSPI?

Thoughts?

Bmw do their own fuel system cleaner but I've no idea what's in it.

I always use a PEA based cleaner like redline or Techron.

A buddy is a chemical engineer for a refiner. He highly recommends Techron and Chevron and Texaco gas.

Yep, if I could get good quality fuel, this would less of a problem. Those fuels are for US residents, I am in Australia.

LSPI isn't "a thing" with your engine and engine oil.

LSPI occurs due to engine tuning.

If you want to clean your fuel system every 25k or 50k miles then run a tank with Berryman's B12 followed by a tank with Techron or Redline Si-1.

Garage List
I'll run a bottle of DI Jectron and a tank of Aral 102 after an oil change... followed by some highspeed Autobahn runs. It's probably a placebo, but my B46 seems to be doing just fine at around 55,000km. Granted my go-to fuel in the Netherlands is V-Power98, so it's not like I use inferior quality gas.

Techron Marine or Redline si1 have the highest concentration of PEA.

Great videob and worth watching it will explain alot and definitely help your decision making. https://g20.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=2116416

Some domestics tuned their TGDI engines to run at diesel levels of rpm on ILSAC oils (30/20 grades). In some.casea they also had an injector pattern which would send some fuel against the cylinder walls. The tuning and additive composition of the oils used would create LSPI events. API SN+ was introduced as the solution.

BMW doesn't tune their motors to run like this and the oils used would not cause LSPI.

Anyways, all of the major oil companies have updated their additive packages to API SP or meet the performance requirements of API SP.

API SP carriers over the LSPI test from SN+.
