If its like other BMW's it likely the car trying to be intelligent based upon your recent driving style e.g. if you plod along a motorway its going to give you more miles but if youre racing the chavs from the lights round town then youre going to get less forecasted distance

Anything from a couple of days to a couple of weeks depending upon shipping capacity based upon what some are seeing. Given it’s only a hop across the North Sea you’d assume it would be shorter than longer, but these a crazy times.

Just thought the Portimao blue looked really good in the sunlight today, it brings out the deeper blue. Roll on spring/summer.

The road tests in Scandinavian country’s didn’t show such low range?
What is your wheel size?

No doubt about it temperature affects it greatly and like you I had noticed a huge drop in mileage but I felt this happened when they did the update that changed the menu system and added the sport HUD view among other things, when the car was returned to me I had lost about 15% in an instant and in fact spoke with the dealer about it who assured me it was due to the length of time it was turned on doing the update (several hours according to him).

That was a few months ago and still the car isn't back to what it was though its getting better as I now see about 160 miles at 80%SOC when it's around 3 degree.

BTW mine is on the 20" with the wider rears.

That's not far off.
160 at 80% works out to be 200 at 100%.
At 3 degrees 200 miles on the factory 20" wheels is actually pretty good.

At my best during the summer I was seeing 127 miles at 50%SOC so still a long way short.

All of our GOM conversations amuse me.
In the year it took to receive my i4 I started thinking more and more about range. So, I switched the dash on my last 340i to show the range remaining.
This was almost as variable as the i4’s and followed very similar patterns. So, the base algorithm must be very similar.
Anyway back on topic, since receiving my i4 in November I have seen 155-200 miles at 80%. M50 on 19’s.
The only long motorway run used 111% covering 236 miles at -4C. 10 local miles dropping off Christmas presents in the middle, and loosing all the cabin heat, cost 10% SOC…
Cursing at temperature was much more economic than short cold trips heating to 18.5C.

Does using heated seats instead of climate make a difference? Seen it referred to in the press a few times now as a battery saving ‘tip’. Not that my other half will want anything less than climate, steering wheel AND heated seats on of course….

Yes. Using heated seats is more efficient.
My daughter has a Bolt and she does that when she needs the extra range.

Has anyone managed to get confirmation of the chsnge week to the ‘shifterless’ design of the MY23 i4 yet? I noted the change is there in the UK configurator, but no detail as to which production week this (and any other changes?) are due to start down the line.

So I collect my new m50 on Saturday after agreeing to take a factory build in November. I ordered in tanzanite on 20” rims with ivory white and black extended interior along with tech and comfort packs along with 50year badges. Bring on the weekend.

Dealer let me know mine was at Status 150, VIN assigned this morning. However the My BMW App says it’s already built and delivery is underway! Not sure which one is right, but finally it’s at least getting close. If it arrives by 23rd April that will be exactly 13 months from order to delivery.

EDIT - after a quick check with the Dealer sales rep, the message seems to be that the App isn’t that clever and may be jumping the gun.

Confirmed that the My BMW App tells porkies! My M50 started in the bodyshop this afternoon, several days after BMW said it was on its way. Either that or the data is cross-linking to a different car. Now due for delivery in Week 16. About 13 months from start to finish.

Here’s the wife’s e40.
We have been really pleased so far with the efficiency. Seeing 3.5 to 4.1 miles per Kw which is much much more efficient than her previous Polestar 2. The BM is a little slower but not really much in it and overall it’s a better drivers car than the Polesar was.

I’m only getting 2.4mi/kwh in my new m50 driving efficiently. My previous ix3 easily achieved 3.4mi

You’ve got two motors to lug about even if only one in use. That’s going to have at least some impact perhaps?

We've got a Pod Point Solo 3 (tethered), the sun really won't affect the cable with the amount of insulation/protection that is built into it.
