M340i will not start

Hi all,

I have a 2020 m340i that I purchased from CarMax a month ago! Car was running great, no issues. However, yesterday after driving it for half a hour, I parked it and locked the car. When I came back to the car and tried to get it to turn on, the car wouldn稚 do so. I kept putting my foot on the brake and pressing the start button, but no response from the engine. The screen kept turning on and then immediately saying goodbye! I called Triple AAA to jump start the battery to see if that was a issue, but after 2 different guys came and tried to jump it, there was no luck. They believed it was some sort of failed starter. I had to tow it to CarMax (as I知 still in their 90 day warranty that covers any issues). I知 very surprised that the issue even happened to my car. I got the car knowing that it was supposed to be reliable, and yet this car became completely inoperable within a month. Did anyone else have this issue?

(I知 having CarMax start working on it tomorrow, will give updates). Car only has 35k miles, got it a month ago, coming from a ex FBO big turbo e85 civic, so I知 not completely inexperienced with cars.

Is it possible the key batteries are flat? No error on the screen, just 'goodbye'? Really strange.

Did the AAA battery techs check the 12V battery to be OK? The 2020 M340i should not be mild-hybrid so at least there is no 48V components to worry about.

Is the car already out of 4 yrs/50k miles new car warranty? If not, the dealer likely can diagnose and fix the issues better than Carmax.

No, I was still able to use the keys to unlock and lock the car. No error screen as well, just told me goodbye repeatedly.

Yes they checked both batteries! They determined it wasn稚 the issue. I知 not too sure if they original 4 year warranty is gone already, but I have the 90 day warranty that CarMax covers everything for free + MaxCare which also works at BMW, just have to pay a deductible.
