AC Schnitzer G22 demo car

Our M135i sold so we've got this for a mild makeover. Wheels, springs, aeros and pedals.

San Remo Green again

Updates soon.

I know it's a demo car and it does look good, but it's a lot to spend on a 420i?!
I say this when my 320d M Sport had it's ass handed to it by an electric MG last week...

You may have noticed that, in some quarters, there is some resistance to the grills on the 4 series. Hard to believe, I know, but it's true

We're going to use this car to show how good a 4 series can look, and we don't need a M440i to do that. We'll use it for promotional purposes, car shows, visiting our dealers, maybe the odd magazine / online road test by the motoring press and then someone will get a very nice looking San Remo Green 420i at a bargain price.

Looking forward to this, undoubtedly ridiculously expensive - but you always manage to get the wheels and suspension spot on.

So how is AC Schnitzer doing these days? Must be still selling well? I never see a BMW with their bits on these days.

It's doing fine and growing in some markets. Here in the UK, BMW GB were the importers from 1997-2007 and sold AC Schnitzer through every BMW dealership, so you won't see as many AC Schnitzer cars on the road now as you did back then, but there is still an enthusiast following that appreciates what we do.

The next few years are going to be challenging. With electrification, closer regulation, tighter emissions controls and the possibility of homologation (type approval) on the horizon the tuning market will experience significant change.

Not seen many 4 series around, which is a shame because they really are stunning, even the front end that many people 'hate' really suits the car!

Still remember being slightly in love with the bonkers looking ACL2 that you made...

The ACL2 didn't just look bonkers. It was a widened M235i with an M4 lump dropped and with the turbos maxed out at 570hp. It was a wild child!

If I might say something a little on the negative side. You seem to charge £1265 for a set of tyres (235/35/20 and 265/30/20 PS4S), when you can pick these up fitted for £215 and £250 respectively, or at least that is the briefest of searches. Am I missing something or is it really necessary to add 35% on top, as I think it could possibly send out the wrong perception?

Thanks for the question and allowing me the opportunity to explain

Our web price "including tyres" includes TPMS and tyres sourced and mounted at AC Schnitzer in Germany. We can sometimes/often offer a better price by sourcing the tyres in the UK, but as tyre price and availability fluctuates so much here we can only do this on request, not via our website. We encourage customers to get in touch for an individual offer.
