Anyone code a lighter blue into the ambient lighting?

I have no idea why BMW didn't have the M colors come standard on their vehicles and instead chose "Bronze" or "White and ____" as picks.

I read for the g20 you have to tick the g20... Option under bmc.

But I have this one by default: G26_lichtpaket_code2

Does it do any harm if I select the other one mentioned?

I don't think so. When you make changes to the codes there and save it, it gets saved as a new lichtpaket profile (the old one still remains and is not the one selected now). The new profile is the one your car runs. If you want to go back to your old settings, all you have to do is go and choose the original profile (g26_lichtpaket) your car came with (which is why I take screenshots of the original ones before coding) and click code (sometimes, trying to restore a back up doesn't work for me; this is a fool-proof method).

Thx for the reply although I'm really questioning what the difference would be between these profiles.

I'll give it a try later on and let you guys know the results, as long as I can switch back to the default profile, I'm not scared to try this out.

I believe it's for the different g chassis cars (since it says G20/21/05 etc IIRC). I haven't tried coding another chassis color in. Not sure why your car had the G26 option selected since it's a G20 (I think the G26 is the 4 series GC or convertible?).

I didnt have the time to get to it yet, Might try it this evening

Yes. Make the changes on the profile that is already selected for your car. When you hit code, the new values all get saved as a new profile (which gets selected automatically) and the old one remains.

Hey guys, need help
I had already change bronze to red a couple of weeks ago
but realized today only one color can be changed?

example when I changed lilac to yellow and hit code, my red switched back to bronze
is that expected or am I missing something?

my hope is to have:
red instead of bronze
yellow instead orange
sky blue instead of blue

I assume you aren't using the expert coding method. With normal coding, only the first color in the idrive can be changed. To change colors like you mentioned, you'll have to use expert coding.

Concerning ambient-light coding, I just wrote a short wrap-up PDF, containing all the informations spread throughout this thread. Have fun!

Awesome work, yreiser, makes it much easier seeing all the info together like that.

Thanks to all that contributed to the discoveries too.

I coded blue to 00,80,FE. Which in my eyes, has a bit more intensity and looks closer to the blue in the stitching of my seats and matches the blue of the M colors better. I tried the true m blue, but it has enough white within it, that it's barely visible if there's just any amount of ambient light during the day. At least the color I'm using now pops with ambient light.

How about coding each individual section a different color. Like code the door pockets one color and door handles another color and interior trim another color and floor wells another color. Is this possible ? anybody do it ?
Also, is there any way to increase brightness ?

I did some decoding a while back. Basically. They're grouped in sets. Should be easy to decipher for the rest of the colours too. Check my link below.

I've used 360A in BDC3 then gone to color data … then to custom all the way at bottom and played with each color so It seems to me that new colors begin on byte 8s for example and also let's say you want red for your bronze even though you can obviously pick that color in non expert settings you'd put FF IN first byte coinciding with bronze example below.

FF IN 18
00 in 19
00 in 20 This 6 digit combo ff0000 = red In hexadecimal color

Bronze = 18,19,20 23,24,25 28,29,30

Blue = 48,49,50 53-55 58-60

Purple = 78-80 83-85 88-90

If you really want to get confused you can put use multiple codes in each 3 byte slot for instance

Let's just say red for 18-20 so 18= ff 19=00 20= 00 then on 23-25 you want blue then for 23 = 00 24= 00 25= FF AND LASTLY you want green for the top reading light snd back seat lights 28-30 28=00 29= FF 30 = 00 once you code it snd it's done you should have red at eye level blue at your feet and green coming from reading light and backseat top light..

There are millions of colors to choose from but you have to play with the bytes in custom once you click 360a then color data then custom … best practices have a plan or your colors in hex format before starting this process because the car times out quite often … if you hate it then you just use backup from minutes before blacks and whites are not that great lime green jade green bright blues pinks yellows gold look amazing in the vehicle

Lilac: 4B0082
Orange: A64B00
Blue: 000080
Smoky Blue (In my opinion &#128578: 5CCCCC

For G20

00 White. Byte: 3,4,5/8,9,10/13,14,15
01 Bronze. Byte: 18,19,20/23,24,25/28,29,30

For example:
If You need to change white to red, you should change byte 3 (change 90 for 8B), byte 4 (change E0 for 00), byte 5 (change 90 for 00). For bytes 8,9,10 and 13,14,15 perform the same actions.

Also, you can mix colors as you wish

Hi, I created an excel sheet to make coding a little bit easier.
You have different areas with dropdown options and on the bottom a field to add your own Colors.

But the excel code is not working 100% correct (HEX Code for Colors) and I cant find my problem.

For example it wont show the HEX Code for BMW Blue in D8.

Perhaps someone can look at it and find a solution.

@Hacker9: You can notice that the also the matching of the other values doesn't return what you want. You must use also the fourth parameter to the VLOOKUP function set= FALSE, that means exact matching. (The default for this function is TRUE.) It works when set to FALSE.

Is there way to code sidemarker on US model via Bimmercode app? Please, i would like to do this instead of paying someone to code my car.
