ZTK : 374 MM Rotors & Brake Pads Life : Poll

Yo, I want to start a poll / thread about how long those ZTK 374 mm Rotors and Brake Pads holding up. The reason why ; I just had to replace all four Brake's and Rotors at 27.5k. The dealership would normally charge 3.5k if it weren't for UC+2. So doing some digging on how long to extend UC + and if other should buy it from their phone app.

Are you beating on them or are you gentle with them?
Do you have Driver Professional package?
Is that D.P.P. active cruise control beating on them? Vote and Lemme know

Replacing any steel rotor at sub~30k miles seems excessive. Clearly something is chewing up the rotors. I think the cruise control or auto hold is probably the cause.
I have the standard steel rotor with multiple track days and 25k miles and my rotors are absolutely fine. Probably have another 15-20k mileage of life left.

Nice! Did you change you pads at anytime in those 25k miles? I definitely use adaptive cruise control daily for work commute down 101. And auto hold at stop lights.

I’ve changed the pads twice now but only because I track my vehicle. And even then, the pads were not worn down but for safety purposes having a broken in new pad is best for track days. After a track day, I usually swap back the stock pad or a less aggressive street/race pad.

I am at 39k mikes and the car says I need rear brakes now. It says ok to continue to drive. What happens when it says it's not safe to drive. Will I be stuck and need a tow? Hope not but I am in the process of doing some research to see if I need to change the rotors also. Should I do the front while i'm at it? Should I do rotors and pads? Thanks in advance

The first thing you should do is GO INTO YOUR BMW APP and buy Ultimate Care + through the APP A.S.A.P. otherwise it's going to be hella expensive.... That should take care of both pads and rotors when you go into the dealership. They will diagnose both pads and rotors front and rear on all 4 corners and you won't have to pay anything out of pocket except for the Ultimate Care + X years assuming your still under warranty. If not under warranty; take it to an independent shop and see what they say. It's still safe to drive until your braking performance will be reduced though.

In the my BMW app? I can't find it. The dealer quoted me $750 for the rear. The app says pads only. I can definitely have them done cheaper, with rotors!

Yeap probably 1-4k depending on year uc+ plan. It's buried somewhere in there under maintenance/ warranty. $750 not bad for the read axle with pads only. Rotors gonna add $$ to that bill.

I can't believe what I'm reading. Replacing Brakes and Rotors costing over $3000 for some of you? How and why? I don't even think M3 brakes and rotors cost that much to replace.

g20 front rotors with ztk package

I had to replace my front rotors and pads at 50k but fortunately the previous owner had purchased the UC pkg so I had no out of pocket. The dealer showed me an invoice for $3k.

Rears are still fine. I usually turn off at least one of the nannies to limit the auto braking.

I have 8 track days on the car.
