Dreaded software updates
Trying to get the android auto update (07/2020 I think) and my car has 03/2020 atm.
The connecteddrive/myBMW apps are useless for OTA updates in Ireland it seems. Went to the dealer, they hooked up the car and said I have the latest version which is of course major BS since there is 07/2020 and 11/2020 also out there - so I am guessing their technicians just don't have the skill to push the updates. They said car has too many options and maybe that's why - aka they have no idea. Anyone got fed the same excuses? Thinking of just going to another dealer and trying again. |

Apparently because it's a more complex idrive system, due to stuff like HUD, surround park, etc so therefore that gets updated last
But yeah I think they connected the diag machine says no update, done, next!!! Can't we just get the damn thing online, drop it on a USB stick and bam. |

Yup it went in under warranty for "iDrive" issues and the dealer was very nice about it so it may be that it just didn't find one.
Originally they called me in August last year to do a software update and I specifically told them to install 07/2020 and I got the car back with 03/2020 |
