Trouble re-installing trim panel above pedals

I removed the trim panel above pedals (part 6 in below link) to install a dash cam and tuck cables behind this panel and seem to have trouble locking it back up.

Seems pretty simple and straightforward - just have to lock the two screw locks (part 12), but I can't seem to screw them in.

Am I missing something? Or just not giving it enough muscle?

Hehe I had the same issue in the passenger side. Getting the lock to align was more difficult than I anticipated. I still haven't locked it in properly but it hasn't fallen off yet.

I actually figured it out after posting this.

Just had to make sure the panel was pushed in as hard/flush as possible, and tightened the screw locks with a screwdriver (was trying to screw in with hands before).

I guess just took a bit more effort and use of tools haha

I just did that today morning! Used a screwdriver and it worked. I was using my fingers too and it wouldn't budge after a bit.
