Advice and WTB 2020/2021 m340i X-Drive
I've been looking for a super clean, very well-optioned m340i X-Drive for a few months now and am considering 2 candidates. I'd appreciate any comments/opinions on the two choices below. And if anyone on this forum has another vehicle in mind, please share. Also, I don't plan to mod/tune my car. TIA for your time/expertise. Option 1: 2020 Alpine White m340i X-Drive with only 15,400 miles. Warranty until 5/25 Condition 10/10. CPO from a BMW dealer. Clean CarFax and AutoCheck. Fully optioned, executive pkg, driving assistant pro, HK Sound, Adaptive Suspension, Black leather with blue stitching. $49,500. I'd have to spend about $500 to travel there and get it. Option 2: 2021 Portimao Blue Metallic m340i X-Drive with 30,000 miles. Warranty until 5/25. Condition 8.5/10 (2 rims with curb rash, needs a good detail) Private sale, 1 owner. Clean CarFax and AutoCheck. Fully optioned, executive pkg, driving assistant pro, HK Sound, Adaptive Suspension, Black leather with blue stitching. $45,800. No travel is required to pick it up. |

Wow! That’s a hard question for me! I much prefer a 2020!! But, that’s a big price difference and the 2020, even though it is very low mileage, is significantly overpriced and you would immediately be upside down on it. So, even though I do not like the mild hybrid, I have to acknowledge my disdain for it is not 100% reasonable, and that’s probably the one I would choose. As you mention, a good detail will clean it up and it’s pretty easy and not too expensive to get the wheels refinished. I am really enjoying my AW and being back in a white car after many years, but Portimao Blue is a great and iconic BMW color and a great color for the M340i, so that’s probably the one I would choose. Good luck. Can you get the seller down another thousand or so?
Do be aware the 2021 will have a pretty wimpy exhaust compared to the 2020.
