Upcoming snow in PNW

Anyone else not looking forward to this snowstorm? I’m going to have to work Saturday-Friday this week, and doing the trek from north seattle to Kirkland. Hoping I5, 520, and 405 are well plowed in the event of snow. Thinking about it the driveway in my condo building might be the most problematic! Anyone who has been here for a while know how well they take care of 520 and 405? I’m sure 5 will be a priority for snow clearance.

They will immediately clear the main roads. Your main worry are the other idiots on the road not knowing what they are doing (pretty much your typical Seattle driver).

With an exception of last year, when they say it will snow and freak everybody out, we usually get couple of flurries which then turns into rain.

I am not worried about so far with I am seeing on the forecast.

BTW, hope you swapped out the tires on your car if it came with summer tires.

I am not really looking forward to it... primarily because people in Portland just freak out even with the slightest accumulation and many just leave their cars in the middle of the roads.

xDrive with winter Sottozero 3 tires did great in our 7" that we got out here in Issaquah, and I live up in the Highlands. Roads were well maintained this year. I think transportation authorities are learning every year since so many prior debacles during snow. The only negative to me is all the grime on the car and subsequent scratches after a wash!

On a related note I bought this car to replace my daily driver E92 M3 for this exact weather reason. Half of the year with wet or frozen roads in the NW makes AWD just more enjoyable IMO. On Friday I shipped out my M3 to a buyer in LA where it will be a much happier car. The sun did come out a bit to melt off the remaining snow.

I love that M3 but the M340i is no let down and a very good replacement! M340 finally gets shelter in the garage.

Beautiful cars! I was fine throughout the storm as well-freeways were well maintained and seattle proper was fine. Lots of morons on the side of the road with cars in a ditch off 405 though... :/

Have to admit your m340 makes me wish I spent the 5k extra on that. I think I wasn’t really in the know about ordering one before the configurator was online. Still love my 330, even though it’s now in the shop getting the mirror replaced.

Congrats on the sale of the M3.

Having had the very same car, after driving the M340, I do not miss the E92 at all.

My daily drivers will always be AWD cars for the obvious reasons of living in Seattle. City is slowly getting their act together but as pneumodoc stated, it is all the morons that makes it challenging for the rest of us.

We almost had zero snow down in Lake Washington area. Lets see if we get any more this year.

Stay safe out there folks!
