Coded exactly as your instructions on 11/2019.70 version. Everything else works great as you describe apart from this little niggle with the overheads. |

Just to add, I also noticed this morning that when unticking the ambient light box in I drive and then ticking the box to turn ambient lighting back on. The overhead spots only will not come back on unless I first toggle through the colors. Again this only occurs when Bronze/White are selected.

Yup. My car has the same issue too. I was running the green white option, which was why my map lights worked. When I switched it to bronze white, the map lights went red. But turned the car off, parked for a while and when I started my car again, the map lights were off. I went to bronze and it turned back on. I wonder what the issue is!
I’m thinking of swapping the values of green white and bronze white in 360D to see if the issue persists.

Other than that, very happy with the new colour schemes. My new "bronze & white" setting is actually my favourite. |

I swapped the values for bronze and green in 360D. Same issue. When I choose the green option, the map lights don't light up in red. But when I default to bronze and leave the car and get back in, the map lights turn on automatically (blue map light). I wonder why it doesn't like starting up with a red map light.

I'm sorry. I haven't tried it out yet since I was busy with my daughters baptism and other stuff. I'll try it out tomorrow and post when I find out

I tried it out today. Changing another color instead of bronze resulted in the same problem for me. When I first get into the car, the map lights are off but changing to any other color (including lilac which I changed to red to test) and back resulted in the map lights turning on. So it was a no go.
Instead, I thought I'd try something else. FF0000 is basically the reddest red you can code. I thought maybe the map lights didn't like turning on at the purest red for some reason. So I reduced the redness down a notch by coding in FE0A0A (which isn't the reddest red but has a very slight pinkish hue to it). And that seems to work for now. Turned the car off, walked away, let it lock and go to sleep, and 10 minutes later, came back to the car and opened the door and the map spot lights were on too. While I can notice the slight pinkish hue when I look at the LEDs directly, it isn't enough to bother me that it isn't pure red. Photo of my interior with the new red below.

Do I need to swap out all the FF0000 coding I previously used in your instructions. I will be using your previous guide and plan to switch all FF0000 changes I made to the new FE0A0A unless there is a specific byte number for the map lights that I only need change? Byte 18 - FE Byte 19 - 0A Byte 20 - 0A Byte 23 - FE Byte 24 - 0A Byte 25 - 0A Byte 28 - FE Byte 29 - 0A Byte 30 - 0A It definitely works now. I just checked like a minute ago. Walked towards the car with the key in my pocket. Car unlocked itself (comfort access). I didn't even open the door and looked inside. The map spot lights are on now (used to be off before). PS - Just reread your post. I wonder if there's a specific set of bytes just for the map light. I'll do some digging and see if there is. If so, I'll change just that to FE0A0A and the rest back to FF0000.

Im guessing the three sets of bytes in 360A probably belong to spot lights, door pockets/handles/footwell and door/dash strips?

I had some free time today to try and "decode" the three sets of hex values under 360A.
In my car, bronze has been changed to red. Bronze and white is red map spotlights/door handle & pocket lights/footwell lights and blue dash/door strips. Now the issue we had was, when the ambient light is set to the bronze white (red blue) option on the idrive, the map lights wouldn't turn on until we switched it to another color and back again. The work-around I found was to reduce the intensity of the red by a notch so that the map lights turn on as well. While it wasn't very obvious, there was a slight pinkish hue to the red and it was bothering me a wee bit (though it didn’t bother me initially). I wanted it to be pure red. andy5468 and Joedeejay gave me an idea. Since coding became significantly faster with a wired enet cable and USB c adapter (I wouldn't have done it if I was using obdlink), I thought I'd try and decode the values. I decided to replace bytes 18,19,20, 23,24,25, 28,29,30 individually with 90,E0,90 to see which lights turned white and which stayed red. My findings: 1. Bytes 18,19,20 - door handle and door pocket lights 2. Bytes 23,24,25 - Footwell lights 3. Bytes 28,29,30 - Map lights front and rear (small spot lights next to the dome lights) So I replaced bytes 18,19,20 and 23,24,25 with FF,00,00 and left bytes 28,29,30 as is (FE,0A,0A). Result is pure red lights in easily visible areas (door handles, pockets, footwell) and a map light that always turns on (though with a slight pinkish hue noticeable only to me and not the others in the car since they aren't crazy like me).
