Good news. It’s a bit frustrating not quite knowing when its going to drop. It does seem though, a decent drive or charging the battery means you get it as soon as its pushed to your car.

Taken from another forum, there is a way of getting the option to create a rule to turn on the heated steering wheel back:
I have discovered the answer. It's a real pain but I can confirm that it works. The remedy is to Reset to factory settings CAR>SETTINGS>GENERAL. It does mean that you have to reconnect phones and redo music and all of the other fiddly stuff, but I now have the joint seat/steering wheel heating restored. |

I noticed that as well this past weekend when I did the update... time to factory reset iDrive and resave everything that is going to get deleted.
