No-Drill Plate Mount for 22 M340i with Adaptive Cruise Control?
So, I've been doing research preparing for the delivery of my 22 M340i xDrive at some point in the future...
One thing I absolutely have to have is a way to mount my front license plate that does NOT involve drilling holes in my bumper. I've done some searching on the forum and generally on Google and I've come up with a few options. On my Golf R I had the U.S. Millworks tow hook mount and it worked with no issues. On my upcoming M340 there are parking sensors and adaptive cruise control (ACC) sensor so I need to find a mount that will allow all of these sensors to work. Only a couple of the below mounts actually allow you to pick if you have ACC, so I'm not sure if the others will work. Craven Speed Platypus U.S. Millworks, Lightened, Quick Detach Rho-Plate Sly Brackets/BOZZmounts** Carbonio** ** Specifically states works with ACC For any of you awesome humans that have parking and ACC sensors on your 3 series, could you post up what mount you are running and if possible a picture of the mount on the car? I appreciate all your assistance. JP Last edited by jp0319; 02-03-2022 at 03:12 PM.. Reason: Forgot to add the plate mounts I knew of... |

I have adaptive cruise control and have a vanity front plate. My trick is to use double-sided tape. I've used this on several cars now over the last 10 years and have never had a plate fall off.

From NJ here - I don't mount my front plate, it's sitting in my trunk. I have both the front factory plate mount and one that is drill-less that goes in the bottom mesh, but honestly don't like either, or any other options I've seen for that matter. I like the look of no plate more than I care about the off chance I get hassled for it.

A bit unusual solution but I am using velcro adhesive (https://www.amazon.de/-/en/gp/produc...?ie=UTF8&psc=1).
It holds very well - I had it 4 years on my Mazda 6 and it sustained 220 kmph, heavy snow and no issues at all. Only once I changed two pads as they seemed to be a bit loose in the corners. I expect my M340i in a few months and already discussed the same mount with the car dealer. But I am from the EU so we probably have more convenient license plates. |

I am currently running the one that attaches to the tow hook mount, but I don't like it because the front sensors don't work right. Not debilitating, but the sensors go off every time I reverse and it is annoying. Is there a magnetic solution anyone has found? The meter maids here have a hard on for issuing no front plate tickets.
