I’m looking at a G21 330i with a high spec that’s in stock at my local dealer. There’s already a dealer deposit contribution of £2,828, what % discount should I be aiming for? Don’t want to take the mickey but also don’t want to pay more than I need to.

I got about 13% for a M340i. I called around several dealers in the UK after comparing their contributions online. Once I found one with the best delivery date they matched the contribution.

Push, push and push some more, don't feel bad about it, money is money. I had just under 16% off an M340d in May.
I'm in sales myself and if I don't need to go to my boss for approval I know my customer has left money on the table. Same with cars, managers in any field typically have higher levels of discount they are able to offer.

If there's any way you can concot a story that you qualify check out the Park Lane armed forces deals and maybe use that to beat them down.

Try broadspeed and coast2coast cars too.

Note though, that 1 and 3 series are very difficult to get hold of!

Carwow isn't very good for BMW - use Broadspeed as suggested above

It really seems to vary - I got 13% via Carwow vs about 10% via Broadspeed, but atm, Broadspeed is stronger.

Might be location mate - I'm in Newcastle and I didn't even get a quote back on carwow :

I used Carwow to support negotiation, and achieved 13.5%. It was at the end of a quarter, guess that helped too. If there is not a lot of stock and lots of buyers, discounts will probably be lower. Depends on model too.

Try sycamores bmw Peterborough. Ask for Paul Abbott. Decent discounts on new cars. Got mine from there. No affliations. Recommendations based on experience.

Carwow contacts dealers within a radius of you, so it really depends where you live.

Don't think discounts are as they used to be, I heard 20%+ wasn't uncommon. I got 22% on my M2 Comp just 1 year ago!

I think this is partly offset by the the very high second hand prices meaning I can get equity in my current car I wouldn't have been able to before.

I got around 14% discount on a M340i bought a few weeks ago, that was shopping around all the brokers and rang dealer groups around the country. I was happy given the equity I had in the M2.

I got ~11% discount from Sytner High Wycombe on a pre-order 320i. Deal was brokered through coast2coast.

Initially put my details down almost just for fun, turned out into a purchase!
