Constant ticking...

I have recently noticed a constant ticking/clicking noise coming from somewhere in the car (front of the car). It's not a steady rhythm, but more like morse code perhaps (maybe there's a midget trapped?). It's not loud but it is noticeable. It's there when the car is on (330e), running on either petrol or electricity, when I'm stationary (in driver, neutral or park) and on the move. It's not the radio, and I've switched air con off so I don't think it's that.
Anyone noticed anything similar, or experienced it themselves?

Are you sure it’s not a nail in a tyre?

Long shot, but do you have a hard drive in the hi-fi? Think some of the earlier models did. Maybe on its way out?

I don't have a hard drive, and it's not a nail in the tyre (noise is heard when not moving too).
Thanks for the thoughts though.

Probably not the same issue, but I noticed the other day in my car...

It was dark, and I was in a traffic queue. I was stopped close to the car in front and could see that the headlights were dimming up and down very slightly in a random pattern. Turned off the stereo etc and noticed it seemed to coincide with noises from the climate control. (on auto at the time). It seemed to be fluctuating randomly and when I turned climate off, the headlight brightness was stable. But think you said you turned everything off already?

Not noticed it again since and not bothered following it up as dealer seems incapable of hearing a heavy knocking noise on the rear suspension, so cant see much happening with this.

Maybe a problem with the 330e; as its so quiet, you hear all the other little annoying noises and creaks.
