Is that the steering wheel from the 3er or the 5er? Can't tell. Or is it the one from the X4 or X5?

I am done with BMW after my M2 gives up.
This thing looks like an elongated whale...the proportions, like the current 4 series, are just wrong.

So brave of Bmw to give the 4 series such a stunning interior!

I was wondering the same, but think they will make some small adjustments in line with he new grill. Quite excited for this one to come out!

I should give BMW a break since they’ve always had very functional clean dash layouts with little sport to them, but man, this look rather sad in a car that is said to be designed to be much more sporty looking. There is NOTHING sporty about that dash except the steering wheel if that counts.

It’s nothing new though, our Cayenne has a much more distinct sporty looking dash than my F80 M3.

I like the rear accommodations of the G22, looks luxurious and sporty

All about the rear seat design, looks to be loads of leg room, as usual lots more than the bigger 6 series or 8 series. Integrated rear headrests, good good. Is there a seat belt butler, cant make it out from the image?
There is something silver on the B-pillar which I'd be inclined to say is the seat belt extender but need a better view. If it isn't then it would be a bit odd having a piece of silver on that pillar that doesn't do anything

Yes looking again I agree that's the tip of the seat belt extender

The black interior looks much better vs the tan interior.

Specifically the dash.

They don't even differentiate the 8 series much from the 1 series anymore interior-wise, so I think having a hugely different 4 series cockpit was off the table from the start.

I really dislike that huge, bland 'door' in front of the gearstick. There should be no big storage area there, but a surface with a display/buttons.

A cockpit style dash. The trunk is for storage, not the area in front of the gearstick.

BMW nailed great dashboard design, in late 80's.

That storage compartment lid will be shut most of the time and covered with the interior's thematic trim (wood, aluminum...), so when shut, it will seamlessly and discreetly blend in with the center console as part of the interior's 'furniture' / environment. Much more so than a screen or a button panel would. Are you using the trunk for conveniently storing frequently used small items?

i wish bmw differentiated the interiors a bit im drivin a new 3 loaner and the coolest oart about it are the carried over cluster and nav... why should i in a base 330 have the same cluster/nav as a top of the line m850... benefits the 3 not so much the 8

That was great design for the time, but way too many buttons for a modern Interior. I can just imagine the reaction from the cars mags if BMW came out with a button-heavy design like that these days. They would slate it, and probably quite rightly. Design has moved on.

My problem is with it shut. It's just one big boring surface. Doesn't matter if it matches the rest of the trim. It's just flat and uninteresting.

I love the E46/E39/E38 interior.

But I'm a die-hard E36 fan. I know many dislike the interior. I do have (most) of the original extended leather factory pieces and really makes a big difference.

It sure has. While screens look nice, I really like tactile feedback and the analog look.

Having to go through 3 main menu's and 5 sub-menu's to change the temp, to me, is not progress.

What entails extended leather in the E36 M3?

I sure love the E36 M3 too. Glad people are starting to appreciate more and more.
