Here's my deal details below. Car was picked up yesterday.

MSRP:
60,600
Discount 10%
Incentives $4500
Monthly (includes MN tax and w/ BMW CCA rebate): 577

0 down and no MSD's. Just paid fees and first month payment. Hopefully this will help somebody else. Could probably be had for less now given the economic situation

@kevC -

Morning coffee may not have kicked in yet, but $711/mo. for a 48 month finance of $37,253 seems low ($61,965 - $16,000 - $8,253 + W&T = $38,253). I'm thinking somewhere in the $800s?

No, the OTD was $38,523, then I put down $8,523. Then add $2000 ish for the tire and wheel insurance so I ended up financing about $32,000.

Should production ever start up I’m likely to order a custom build and I’ll be targeting 10% below msrp (before incentives) although it seems a bit rare in Canada. That said my dealer started at 7% so we’re not way off. What kind of discount should I get for a demo with 5000km (3000miles) on it? Another dealer has a build fairly close to what I want and said they would heavily discount it... turns out it was less than 5% which is insulting, but wondering if there’s a standard similar to the 10% rule. Thanks!

12-14% for demos

If you are custom ordering vehicle, that 7% is likely all you'll get. That's essentially getting the MSRP at cost before dealer option and fees. Anything more and above the 7% means that there is something specific about the vehicle and BMW has a special program for it and those usually come on low-volume vehicles and/or end-of-model-year units.

As for demo/loaners, it depends on mileage and age of demo/loaner. Keep in mind that the "discount" given on demo/loaners closely correlates to the amount of depreciate in written on the unit. If there is $2,000 worth of depreciation for example, that is what you'll likely see as a discount give/take. There is no "rule". If a demo/loaner was put on the road April 1 and then sold on April 15th with 500km on it, you're likely not likely getting an additional 5% on top of the 7%.

Thanks Bingo. There’s no freight or PDI on the demos I’m being quoted, should I consider that savings vs the msrp? I feel like I shouldn’t as they can’t charge me for those items.

Currently a few different dealers are knocking 5% off (new in inventory) after some back and forth which I think is comical since others are at 7-8% below msrp after the first word!

No because that is already reflected in the price - if the selling price given is $50,000.00 (pre-MSRP discount), the PDI and freight charges would have already been taken out. Also, Freight and PDI are not included in the calculation for residual value or discount, those are up front charges or can be rolled into your payment.

There are a lot of M340i xdrives still sitting at the ports and I'm told the US won't get any more builds until September because of the plant shutdown.

I have 330s at 12.5% off and M340s at 11% off in the Northeast all with the base MF of .00118

I'm waiting on 2021 models to see if there are any changes in options. My time frame is November to January depending on incentives. You are a broker i assume.

Yes, I'm a broker! I've done a lot of VA/MD deals because your dealers always want to mess with the MF and have crazy add-ons.

Taxes are brutal for both states, I gotta say!

Hi Everyone.

I've got a good relationship with my local dealer. My contact there relayed to me they have an M340i that just came in. They are willing to go 11% off plus incentives. No MF markup. Typical FL dealer fee. They deliver in FL and can arrange for out of state.

Alpine White
Premium
Wheels Jet Black 19"
Wireless Charging
Driving Assitance
Adaptive M Susp
Ambient light
Power Tailgate
HK Sound
PDC

PM me if interested. I'm not business, but I probably buy enough personally to be considered one lol

I've been eyeing this car, but I just bought a 330i and X3M so I'm tapped out

Finally, I own a BMW M340i xdrive... sort of. I signed off on a custom build today that I may tweak. Here are the details:

Dravit Grey
Tartufo Merino Leather
M Enhanced Track Package
Adaptive Suspension
Black Wheels 791M
Non RFT
Black Grill/Shadowline
Oak Open Pore Trim
All other options (excluding leather dash which for some reason can’t be ordered with Tartufo & laser lights)

MSRP $72,650
Total Discount $8000 ($2500 incentives) or 11%

I talked to virtually every major dealership in Canada during COVID, so I’m pretty comfortable I did the best I could. Hopefully there are additional incentives before I take delivery... whenever that may be. Oh and I had the security etching and wheel lock charges taken out of the deal.

I’m considering adding the MPE and/or glossy black rear diffuser (and open to other suggestions). I plan to use all of Burrcolds advice to get a 25-30% tint once I take possession.

And now I wait for Germany!!

Congrats and nice build. Everytime I see a non-US 3 series with merino I get super jealous that we can't get it here. And Tartufo nonetheless! Enjoy!

Your build is coming from Germany? So it wasn't true that all M340i builds were coming from Mexico?
