G20 2021 330i Order
Hey Guys!
I am new to the forum and my Alpine White 330i was stuck on Ready for Transport since May 3rd. This morning the status updated to In Transit and after speaking with Genius, they said its on the Grand Mark slated for a 6/1 arrival in Brunswick, GA! I was scared they had set it to the side to awaiting the necessary chips, but guess not! My only fear is that it arrives without the HK system and I have to take it as is. This chip shortage is scary. LOL |

I just checked my build status online. The status bar jumped 4 stages from "Ready for Transport" all the way to "In Transit." I ordered my car on 4/9 from a dealership in NJ. It was assembled in Mexico. So it sounds like mine might be on the same ship with all of yours!

Had some anxiety today with the ship tracker. BMW has been telling me that my car would be off-loaded at Charleston today. I bought the satellite tracking for the Grand Mark as well and watched it sail right pass Charleston.
Checked the online tracker and I saw it switched to "At the Port" again so I'm assuming it was offloaded at Brunswick on 6/1. I'm glad it seems like someone at BMW knows where the car is and that it isn't just on a voyage all the way up the Eastern Seaboard. Hoping delivery might be a little earlier than I expected since it was off-loaded two days earlier than expected! |

So maybe someone with more of a background in the shipping industry or how ports function than myself can answer this one since I'm new to this: My M340i is on the Grand Mark and ultimately going to be delivered to the dealership that's only about two miles from my house. The dealership (and me) are about 45 minutes from Philadelphia and I see the ship is stopping there on Saturday 6/5. The car is not being unloaded there, but it's being unloaded in Newark on 6/11, which is over two hours from the dealership location. I confirmed this with the Genus Hotline when I called tonight. Maybe this is a dumb question, but why would it not be unloaded closest to it's ultimate destination?

I think the car goes into VDC/VPC after unload from the ship, BMW currently operates vehicle distribution centers in New Jersey, Maryland, Georgia, Texas, and California.

I'm in the same boat (no pun intended) as you, right outside Philly and on the Grand Mark. I would guess our cars will be ready for delivery about the same time as drj_zoidberg, around 6/18. They will sit at the port for 3-4 days then another 2-3 for transit and final prep at the dealer.

Hey Guys!
Mine says "At the Port" again so it was offloaded in Brunswick, GA! I contacted my CA and BMW Genius and they expect delivery this Sunday. Problem is the dealer is closed Sunday. Do they just offload it in the back parking lot and drop the key? Then my next question is... How long does PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection) take from the moment the dealer is handed the vehicle? I am so excited to take delivery, she is almost here! |

My M340i finally changed to in transit! It's in the Mexico factory and I'm in Florida. Anybody know where it's going now? Georgia? Then put on a truck? I'm new to this process!

It has arrived!!! Then I called and they have no recollection of receiving it. What gives? Any idea what’s going on? Think they scanned it by accident at another location and it’s still on its way to my dealer. The drive from Brunswick to my dealer is only 4 hours.

In the past 24 hours I've received four different answers as to where my car is:
1. The tracker says "at the port" and, due to the timing of it, I assume that's Brunswick. 2. One BMW Genius said that it was at the VPC in Greer and would ship to the dealership today. 3. Another Genius said it was still on the ship and would be off-loaded in Charleston in about a week or so. 4. Dealership said it was off-loaded at Philly on Saturday. Is this cause for concern? I'm telling myself it'll probably straighten itself out soon but it's worrying that BMW basically seems to not know whether the car left the ship. |

You're right. The granularity of the tracker means there's just enough information to obsess over and no penalty (e.g. annoying the shit out of your dealer) for checking on it 10+ times a day.

Just found out today my car is on Rcc classic and will be at the port tomorrow in FL! Only problem is I have a stop sale on it now for the Bluetooth audio receiver and no remedy yet. Which sucks.. anyone have that happen yet and no how long it'll sit at the port until they fix it?

At the port now boys, it won't be long!
Dealership had me come in to do the paperwork early so I can pick the car up as soon as it's delivered, fun side note I'm doing a deal through a lease broker and the finance manager was NOT happy about it. I overheard him shouting on the phone about how there's no margin left for him on the deal. (Bonus points because M340 are out of stock/no build slots left anywhere). Anyway he tried to sneak a bloated service package through as the "base" lease deal, without even showing the base rate I had negotiated through the broker as an option. Not sure if every dealership uses the same ipad/app for this but when you see the 4 columns of deals (Was "standard, silver, gold, platinum) you can manually delete items off the list to get the "no extra bullshit" package, then select that one. Just be prepared for the finance guy to cold shoulder you for the rest of your time there. |

The dealership told me that my car should arrive on 6/19. Hopefully it will be ready to pick up that day so I can set it up and try out all the new detailing stuff I bought before the work week.
Hope everyone else on the Grand Mark is getting their cars soon too! |
