RaceChip Tuning

Anyone have a RaceChip Tuning "piggy back" system on their G20? M340i or 330?

Thoughts?

Experience?

Thanks.

Yes sir...just installed last week on my m340...Very easy installation. Noticeable difference...pulls hard and works well with the car...No jerkiness. Revs probably ~1000rpms higher in the lower gears before shifting. For a piggyback, you can't go wrong...super simple installation (10 minutes). And a decent, noticeable improvement. If I owned the car, I'd probably go flash tune route (bm3) but I don't . Let me know if you have any questions.

Sweet. Thanks for the reply. I got it installed today! Pretty nice for the price. I'd like to see the times for the track with and without. Do you leave yours on race mode all the time? Any changes with gas mileage?

Yes, I keep mine on 'race' mode and I believe it's map 7 when you do the fine tuning. I've been averaging 16mpg...run in sport + 95% of the time and sport shifting. I have to say, I've had the car for 3 weeks now and just absolutely love it as a DD. All the power I need without the jerkiness of an M car (lots of city driving)...my m5 was a terrible DD in the city.

Nice! Ya I have to agree with the M cars. Just slightly to rough for city driving in Houston. I have the X3M comp and I love love it however it's not as smooth as the M340. I'll have to play with the maps and stuff. My normal commute is 25 miles so I'll get to open it up tomorrow! Have you done any comparison timing like 0 to 60 with and without?

I have install Racechip on my previous car which was working very good for 3 years until I sold my car, change in power was really notable. I still did not buy for my M340i

Would be great to see if someone have possibility to test on rollers if really give 74hp or 88hp for GTS.

Great post, any 0-60 times for pre and post racechip install. I've been thinking about getting the gts. Just curious to see if anyone has seen a noticeable acceleration Improvment.

I hate a GTS Black that I had installed on my AMG C43, for which it was great. I removed it, and have been waiting for RaceChip to finish the R&D for the US spec G20. I see it's ready, so now I just need to get them to answer the phone so I can get the details on sending it back to get reprogramed for my M340i.

Glad to see you guys are enjoying it.
I just ordered a Dragy unit as well. So I'll post some before and after results when I can.

So are these legit gains or is nothing happening like whats being reported with the JB4? I can't seem to figure out what's going on with the JB4. It looks like for many it actually slows the car down or does nothing. This is more expensive but I haven't seen any tests showing actual gains with the Race Chip, other than on the G80's. So what's the deal here? What are the real numbers and dragy times?

GTS provides more power and a smoother power delivery

the RS is a simple boost controller

I recommend getting the GTS

I installed GTS Black on M340ix and checked performance on dyno.
The result was not so as I expected.
Factory performance: 388 hp, 530 Nm.
Using GTS on Race mode (max) engine creates nice torque 630 Nm, but unfortunately only 403 hp.
Basically a lot of torque and just +15 hp.
Guys from RaceChip tuning company told it is different because of engine, engine condition etc.
But difference is too big
Conclusion: I feel more power, but this is torque because engine works in boost mode.

Anyone has tried this on a 2021 M340i? Would be interested to see if there are any differences compared to JB4 since I’m new to this.
