I would absolutely make another appt at the dealer for service, it may be that there is an incremental update available such as 03/2020.50 that could address the app outage. I'm bringing my car in this morning to get it updated and I'll report back. Hopefully it resolves my current issues without creating new ones!

I have just had my G20 320D updated with software 03 / 2020.40, and now I see that my cornering lights are always on when headlights low beam are on (doenst seem to be the case if only driving with daytime running lights are on). I have the headlights with extended features (not laser and not the standard LED).


Anyone noticed same issue, or could confirm yours are working? I am trying to find out if this is a new feature (not sure I know the logic) or an error if the software update. My dealer is also looking into this.

I just got upgraded to 03/2020.40 last week and noticed some issues.

1) "Climate Control Rules" missing under Climate Control menu. So now I can't pick the temp I want the heated seats to turn on automatically

2) Noticed that the heated steering wheel turns on during remote start.

3) Weather widget missing

I did the soft reset by holding the power button. Not sure if I should take it back or if there's anything else I can do. Maybe the hard reset?

Any suggestions?

Have you tried pressing the option button and update apps in the app menu?

I followed alpinewhite3's suggestion and hard reset the entire system. Everything's back to normal.

Just had to reset all my personal settings, but all the apps and functions are back.

I am bringing my 2020 330i in to service next week. It's only got about 700 miles on it but the heated steering wheel doesn't work and drivers door doesn't latch closed about 40% of the time unless I slam it shut. Also excessive wind noise from this door.

Should I ask for software update? It currently shows 07/2019.63
When I made the appointment the person on the call said there were no software updates to my vehicle.
Do I need to tell them anything else specific to get them to do the update?

Ps: I got the car in So California and moved to Northern California literally a day later. Would have preferred to go back to the dealer I got the car from. Hopefully they'll treat me well!

My car is currently at the dealer for a software update, but to my surprise when I arrived there, the car wanted to update itself to 11/2019.70. I live in Belgium and never received an OTA update message before. Hope they upgrade to 03/2020.x.

Edit: dealer just had upgrade the car to 03/2020.40.

I think some European countries have been receiving OTA updates since late 2019.

Just made my 2019.11.70 OTA update yesterday and after it car lights and electric motor (330e) became non functional.
Had to reset iDrive to get the car working again.
Afterwards, everything seems to be ok.

Just had my first software update done from the original 03/2019.37 to 03/2020.58. I have yet to take a deep dive to see what’s what but all my Apps are also gone.

I see that a Factory Rest is needed but what exactly does that mean? How is that done? Will I also lose everything including my Driver Profile? Car Play? Phone? What else?

Factory Reset done! All went without drama. Looks like Driver Profiles are saved in the Cloud so that came back once I signed into my account. The rest like CarPlay needed to be redone and I needed to import my music collection again. No biggie.

The APPS are now there but Spotify doesn’t show up there – it’s on the Media list. Just needed to sign into my account. Drive Recorder was in the App list so I signed up for the free month. I have a very early production car so it was nice to see that it was there.

So far all of the Connect App functions on my iPhone X work including Remote Start – which never did before. Of course I lost all my coding but that I already knew would happen.

I coded that into my car as I still have software version 07/2019.

Believe you'll find the rear DRL checkbox on the iDrive menu, by going to CAR, EXTERIOR LIGHTING and should be under DRL box

For Europe, this feature appears with the release 11/2019. It happened to me after updating in a short trip to Barcelona.

I second the confirmation. 11/2019.70

Downloaded decently fast. Bluetooth upload to vehicle was a little on the slow side, but all went well.

If I don't see more current software pushed in the next few weeks, I'll be going into the dealer for 3/2020.58

This, however, is a step in the right direction. It's almost shocking to see them finally do this after years of weak excuses.
