Apple Carplay
Apologies as there are a few threads on this subject but I have been unable to find answer. Just taken delivery of 330e and keen to get Carplay which an article In Autocar Dec 2019 suggests is to be free for BMWs but when looking via BMW connected website its saying £265 (which is not an option for me - I am not that keen! ha ha). Thanks!

Car Play is free, it's just that BMW haven't updated their website

I had the same issue when I picked my 19 plate car up last month, it looked as though I had to pay but I think I just looked through all the setting, can't remember exactly where, and just selected something and it then appeared. Even the salesman told me I'd have to pay the one off fee......I'll look in the car and see if I can find it

Be interested to know if anyone else has set up Carplay with a 330e. Doing so has somehow knackered the connection between car and connected drive app for battery charge % etc? Despite switching back to idrive in car setting and uninstall/reinstall app etc, the app no longer talks to the car but I can still send sat nav destinations.

Not the same car I know so probably of little value but I set up CarPlay on my 320i and no issues with app connection although the car seems to be on an older software version than what others have mentioned. Might be your problem?

Thanks. For 3 weeks it connected to car seamlessly, and received info whilst charging so you can see what range & % of battery is charged and it has an approx time full charge will be achieved so I know when I can go and unplug etc. But stuck on 6 miles range which was what it was on at the point I switched to Carplay following above intructions. Frustrating.

It would be a good idea to try a reboot of the iDrive and see what happens, had several oddities cured by the simple action of rebooting iDrive. Rebooting has never lost me any settings etc. Yet.........

I think it's 70 seconds, even though it looks like it's done it before then.....🤔

Exactly. It will reset after 15 seconds or so but a full reboot you have to keep holding and let go at 70 seconds.

The irony, after posting some advice my CarPlay decided it didn't want to play anymore, after much faffing around pairing and unpairing, did the reset and now works perfectly. DOH!!

I know it's been a while but am looking at it. seems it's still £265. Was wondering what third party apps work. On the website it says selected. What does that mean?
