BMW 330e Touring now available.

Just a heads up folks.....

I was just browsing the BMW website this morning, and it looks like the 330e Touring is now on the configurator. If lex decline my order for the saloon, i'll be going for the touring instead. Same they dont do it in sunset orange though.

I've been waiting for the 330e Touring to be launched. My dealer in the Netherlands says it will be available to order from next Friday (5th June).

As a PHEV I'd definitely take the Touring over the Saloon as the boot space is too compromised in the latter.

However, a quick play on the configurator gives me the spec I would want coming in at a list of £55,460. Essentially the same spec on an M340i comes to £60,190 list or +8.5%. I think for that % difference, which doubtless would close up with bigger discounts on the M340i, my heart would rule over my head.

In the Netherlands it's the other way round. We have a BPM "luxury tax" which applies to cars on top of the regular VAT. The BPM is lower for low emissions cars. So the M340i xDrive is stupidly expensive, but it makes the 330e roughly similar in price to a 318i.

Many buyers of the 330e are company car drivers. You save a massive chunk of money going for a PHEV as opposed to a Diesel. I wouldnt go for a PHEV if i were spending my own money. The 320i would be where my money would be going.
