Do you always drive in sport mode?

Just wondering as I hardly do. For sure it is the best mode to drive in but the fuel economy is killer unfortunately. So majority of the time I am driving in comfort.

Not sure if I am making a mistake and should be driving in sport mode all the time to truly enjoy the car. If that's what everyone here does it would sway me to do the same lol.

I have a 20ish mile highway commute to work. On the highway I'm mostly driving in Comfort mode (unless I want to pass/overtake with style). As soon as I get off the highway I'm in Sport+.

Weekend and other drives are always in Sport+

I also switch off between comfort and sport+ modes. Comfort probably 75% of the time, and when I see opportunity for some fun, sport+. Those 25% opportunities are the reason I got this car.

When i'm on the highway, i'm almost universally in Eco Pro. Bumper to bumper traffic is no fun in any setting, so I might as well not be wasting gas. As soon as i'm off the highway i'm in either comfort if it's still just around town, or sport if i'm trying to have some fun. I'm getting ~30+ MPG if i'm doing my normal commute, and probably 24-28 if i'm around town or in sport mode a lot.

Probably not the norm on this forum..

On my 2016 340 w/ MPPSK, I ALWAYS put it in Sport. It was reflexive. I'd start the car and hit Sport. The car felt limp when it was in Comfort and steering was awful.

Been in my M340 for a week now and was doing the same thing at first, but have stopped. Comfort still has great steering feel and throttle response. That said, I will still put it in Sport about half the time and love the way it feels.

I'm a few weeks from picking my M340i up but on this same topic of modes, does the car start in whatever mode you left it in when turning the car off?

Interesting! So all of the "cold start" exhaust note videos I've seen have been with the exhaust in comfort?

It's so peppy day to day that I sometimes forget that there is a Sports Mode.

Even in comfort mode, cold start is pretty aggressive sounding. It's once the car warms up that the exhaust quiets down a bit unless you flip it into sport.

These are videos where people are using the remote start, so they wouldn't have been able to put it in sport before pressing start.

Comfort is for wife or certain guests. Otherwise it's sport individual (soft steering and suspension, sport throttle and trans) or sport plus for me.

I've had the car for 4 days.... all sport individual. I'll probably scale it back to 1/2 comfort in a few months.

Not the only one, my usage is about the same. 2-lane, open-country relaxed 60-65mph commuting each day is usually Eco Pro because why not; 34-35mpg is easy. City driving, 50/50 mix of Comfort and Sport, depending on my mood. Backroad fun, taking friends for a ride, Sport+.

Comfort in heavy traffic, sport individual (sport engine and trans, comfort suspension) most of the time, and sport+ for fun
