Very interesting to see others' driving style preference.

My trip to work and back isn't very long, from city to right before hitting highway is exactly the time the car needed to warm up fully. Therefore I am always comfort around town, and when car is warmed up/highway entrance, I'd switch onto sport.

Not sure if I am making a mistake and should be driving in sport mode all the time to truly enjoy the car. If that's what everyone here does it would sway me to do the same lol.
Always in sport mode. It's automatic now. Get in and hit the start button followed by the sport button. I have just over 8k on the ticker, drive a good mix of highway and city and I get a solid 25 mpg. My car goes into sport+ more than it does comfort and still manage 25.

I would maybe set suspension in comfort if it can be adjusted and engine in sport in traffic or if there are potholes. If m340i allows sport plus throttle with comfort suspension and steering that would be a useful setup in some situations.

Comfort 95% of the time as it's mostly used for daily commute. I like to switch it to adaptive if i can remember, and sport if the mood takes me. I've never used eco plus. LOL.

Sport plus all the time. I still get 22 mpg in mixed driving and about 28 mpg highway. I didn't buy the car for the mileage

That isn't correct. If you push the start button without hitting the brake, the car is basically in ACC mode and you can set to sport(+) before you start the engine.

I have been really enjoying manually shifting this car. This is the first automatic car I have actually done that with. The shifts are so fast and the blurps are so fun I am getting addicted to it. Highway to work I am in comfort. Around town and back roads is sport+ manual with the shifter (not paddles).

I'm talking about when using remote start. Can you even use remote start when the car is in ACC mode? It would usually need to be locked and off. Hence why I said you can't choose the start up mode when using remote start. It was a question.

Is there a way to change the default mode from Comfort to something else?

I guess I decided to skip that part when I read your post lol. I'm not sure that is possible then.

I figured someone is in the car starting the car and another is holding the camera and doing a sport+ startup.

I am in comfort a lot. But sport a lot too. On the highway I always run in Eco Pro individual as I have the sport steering turned on. When I really want to have fun I run sport or sport + with the shift lever pushed to the left. How fun is this car in the mode. Very fun! What the car does remember is the last version you were when you hit a button. IE if you drove the car last in Sport + when you start the car and hit sport it takes you to the Sport + not just standard sport. I run dynamic mode sometimes on back roads. Not really sure I can feel anything different.

When on the highway and with cruise control on, eco pro. Otherwise, Sport Plus all the time. Just because of the exhaust note.

In my 2016 340i X-Drive. It was Sport + virtually 100% of the time. It just "needed it".

However, in my 2019 AMG C43 I am only in Sport + mode 10 to 15%. The rest of the time I am in Individual which is set to everything as Comfort except my AMG Performance Exhaust is turned on.

The C43 drives sporty and aggressive without having to go to Sport +.

It seems that many 2020 M340i drivers are finding the same thing...in our F30 340is we needed Sport + to get a rush...a response.

However, I think the current AMG C43 and the M340i only need the Sport + on selective occasions when you really want to get going.

I think it shows have far these 6 cylinder "middle of the range" sport sedans have come...the C43 is closer to the C63 and the M 340i is closer to the M3 than there are to their 4 cylinder counter parts.

We also have a 2019 X3 M40i...which again you only need to put into Sport + about 10 to 15 % of the time. Like when I was challenged by a Mustang GT 5.0 this past weekend.

Shows you that the X3 M40i gets the attention of those V8 Muscle cars!!!

P.S. I took him to the next light...he got a bad start...no all wheel drive.

The f30 definitely needs to be in sport/sport+ in order to feel anything resembling responsive or sporty. It's encouraging that so many are happy to drive the g20 in comfort without complaint.

Sports individual most of the time with manual gear shifts, I switch to comfort when stuck in bumper to bumper traffic or just want to cruise on the highway.

I do about 80% comfort daily commuting to work but i am only getting 18.9MPG with over 3k miles on odometer. Therefore, starting tomorrow i will see how switching to Sport Plus exclusively will impact my MPG. I don't know how guys are getting 25MPG unless they have no traffic on their daily commute or they live in a rural area where there's not much cars. Or perhaps I drive faster than the average M340i driver.....hmm

95% of the time I'm in Sport+ and using my paddle shifters. The other 5% is those rare times I don't want to control my shifts and just drive in comfort.

Same here!

My daily commute is 100% Eco pro. It's only 5 minutes not freeway so no use for sport that short.
