I got 7 year bumper to bumper warranty on mine (including wheels and tires), partially for this reason and that 7 years is about how long I will want to keep it. I think the G20 will be a reliable model overall, partially because the B48/B58 aren't completely new designs, they are improved versions of engines that have had the bugs worked out. But then again there's a lot of tech in the G20 so who knows. That's what warranties are for. |

I for one will never go to the stealership here. I have my own fair priced BMW mechanic so I'm lucky.
Ok so what do you guys recommend out of this list: 1. 2019 330i 2. 2019 M340 3. 2020 330i And which month release of each model do you recommend since someone here said that the earlier the release the less reliable since it's new still. |

I was told that the m340 difference is 100 HP and that's about it since it's a 6 cylinder instead of 4. That being said I don't think I'll do anything with a 355HP. So for me $20k for 100HP extra won't justify it... plus it's an M packaged car which I can't stand. |

BMW not known for long term reliability but u have a high mileage one. Some of them hold up well. Can be hit and miss. Go WOT in the m340 and it's always a hit.

miles are not everything, age is as important if not more. your e90 was decaying for 13 years, especially when kept outside all the plastic rubber parts which of there is plenty in bmw are gonna turn to rubbish, electronics too.

But the M340 isn't just about the additional acceleration. The 6 gives the G20 added character. Even when your not using all of the the power, you feel it through the sound and every small press of throttle. To me it's worth the money because it makes the car feel more special, even if I don't get to drive it hard all the time. |

So again, the electric steering is actually better than older hydraulics? And I shouldn't worry too much about the electronic stuff breaking down? |

Oh, btw the things that has broken down in my 07 e90 are mainly sensors and water pump and valve cover gasket.
How easy is it to replace them in the 2019 330i models? I'd assume those would be what breaks down first in these cars? |

While it remains to be seen, I feel like while overall build quality is probably generally more suited to the consumer upgrade culture (thinner paint, overall robustness of the car, and so forth) it seems like so many things have just been improved over time that the car could prove to be more reliable.
It would be an interesting comparison to see E46/E90/F30/G20 reliability numbers, but for some reason I suspect that things are actually getting better in that regard. For example, although my F30 is still at around 50k, it has been pretty much totally uneventful. Whereas my earlier cars of the other chassis, E46 E90 and so forth were full of so many problems, even early on. As others have said, it can be hit or miss. But I would have no reservation getting a G20 and hanging onto it for a long while. I do think that later in the lifecycle LCI refresh models are almost always a better play though, that I am certain the data would show.

I think I've decided on a 2019 330i .
1. is there a There about a $10k difference between the 2019 and 2020 model? 2. WHere do you suggest I buy the car from? Dealership is most expensive and privately owned car sales shop for BMW seems to have a similar price to the dealership from what I've seen. |

Don't say we didn't warn you. I also am not too sure on the differences from the 2019 and 2020, if anything it's probably extremely minor. |

How the hell did you get your E90 to 250k miles? My '08 has 85k on it and I'm afraid it'll break every time I drive it. Mine has been in the family it's entire life and always serviced at the dealer.
