Ive had a 330e on trial for a few days. I carried out a little fuel economy test last night. My main aim was to see what the economy was like on the petrol with no charge.

So I had a trip to leicester planned, which is 60 miles away, i had half a tank of fuel and 9 miles of charge. I used the charge around town, and it was pretty accurate in hybrid eco mode.

The rest of distance was done in hybrid pro mode, so 51 miles give or take, of which 45 miles was across the M5/M6/M69, at a mix of 50/60/70/ahem speeds and a few blats to check the acceleration.

The return was all done in hybrid eco mode all 60 miles of it. Interestingly i recovered 4 miles of charge.

So the whole journey took 12litres of fuel,I just put 12 litres back into the car and it took the needle back to where it was before i started, which with my man maths is around 42mpg. Overall the on board computer reported 48mpg.

Pretty impressive in my book, and it still suits me for company car duties, yes a 318/320d is closer to 55mpg, but the tax savings and the fact that i dont end up with grubby hands at the pump, makes it worthwhile lol.

You’d be doing well to get 24 miles. 22 is about my max.

So had the car a few months now and the highest I've seen the gauge read is when I leave earlier than the preheat time (and I forget to Change it). If I do short journeys then I get a lot less electric miles than if I get on the motorway and sit there at 70mph. Still not the 37 advertised but that's not unusual for a car to not meet the mpg advertised...

Only 27 kms/17 miles today from a full charge. 7c and no traffic. Divided over 3 trips of 10km each.
Could there be something wrong with my battery? Everyone else seems to be getting much more

Short trips are no good for range.

I'd stop comparing your results to everybody elses as it'll drive you insane (pun intended)

You're right - all this 'I get 500kms from a single charge' stuff is most disconcerting!

Finally got mine. V early days but on two trips to work and back seem to be getting about 20 miles on a full charge, driving like my mum. Lol. My commute is country lanes and bends at 19 miles. When charging to max, it’s been saying 24/25 miles on app but tonight, says 30 miles. Be interesting to see what happens. Been charging via extension but new EV charge point installed tomorrow so should reduce a 10 hr charge to 3.5.

I've often complained about my poor range (28-30kms) and been told it was due to the nature of my daily commute of 4 trips of 10 kms each with hours in-between each trip.
So today I decided to do an experiment. I started with a full charge, put the car in electric mode, set the cruise control at 90km and drove straight with no stops until the electric ran out and it went over to hybrid mode. The temperature was a nice 18c and I didn't use the aircon, the radio was on.
It went for 47.7kms before switching over to hybrid.
That's a lot better than my usual range but it's still a long way off some of the people here who claim up to 60 kms in normal driving (as opposed to the deliberate easy driving I was doing today). Would I do better in a different mode?

In my experince you get the most km out of the battery in Hybrid EcoPro. It's more effecient to let the car coast at higher speed. It also forces you to be a little more lightfooted on power(gas)pedal, so the petrol engine don't kick in.

I've been thinking about your short trips: You don't have the possibility to plug in the carcher when you stop? Then you can heat up the car from the grid? I think that could give many more electric km.

Pretty much exactly what I was getting before the apocalypse. I don't think you can do better than that in Ireland unless you're always going downhill...

Have you preheated the car and was battery fully charge just before the start? Importent steps for long range..

No, but the temperature was 18c. I see a couple of posts back that you got 62kms at a temperature of 4c. How is that possible?

I have been range experimenting this last few days with the different modes - electric, hybrid eco-pro and finally today, hybrid. I did exactly the same journey each day at exactly the same speed (90kph). It turned out the the regular hybrid gave the best range of 51kms. There wasn't much in it but it was a clear winner.

Outdoor temp definitely a factor. Saw range increasing to 24/25 miles as temp rose towards 20 degrees celsius and now summer is over (ha ha) and temp in UK back in single figures (7 to 9) I am getting nearer 20 miles for exactly same route/same driving style.

How on earth did you get 71kms? What sort of journey is it in terms of terrain etc?

Pretty sure the spikes on the fuel graph means ICE kicked in so no way that was 100% electric individual

And assuming I understand it correctly, it shows an average fuel consumption of 0.1l/100km. If the ICE had not kicked in this would be 0.0?

The journey, was on 30,50,70 and 80kmh with some traffic light in Stockholm. Back to back so now downhill 71,8km so No flat surrface all the way. some uphill some downhill. If you look closley to THE graph you can see just eletric for 71,8km then the ice kicked in so for My Journey that was 74km the ice consumtion allways take the hole journey and divide it. The graph on the right shows from 10km to 100km. And the left from 0-10km. So to say it again, look closley No ice for 71,8km...
