Speed camera app not working today
IDrive 8 the camera app stopped working today. Couldn’t open it at all on the touchscreen despite all other apps working ok. Subscription still active and valid.
Just me or affecting others? Any thoughts? Reset? |

I happed to check mine today and the app was there but it had been turned off!
Turned it back on with audio notifications but haven't passed a camera location yet. |

So I rebooted the iDrive and it’s all come back.
Next problem with cameras is the “bong” is very quiet- doesn’t seem to use the bong setting in the sounds options which is on max. I seem to remember id7 in the 340 was not an issue. |

I've just been around some fixed site speed and red light camera sites locally to me and they have all registered normally although I did update apps and services in the iDrive (ID7) before I went out.
Interestingly though it didn't register a speed camera site like it always has done despite the camera site being removed almost two years ago and replaced with a pedestrian crossing! It got me thinking that maybe they have been updating the locations of the camera sites recently and that has led to the app being on and off line? |

I personally think it is and for twenty five quid or less than 50p a week it could potentially save you a lot more!
Only does fixed site cameras not the mobile vans but I've found it works pretty well with average speed cameras on motorway roadworks and the like. Plus it also does red light cameras which is useful for junctions in unfamiliar locations. |

So first drive of the day today and it's still not working. Still properly ticked in the app though.
Second drive I rebooted the Idrive before moving off. Rechecked the app and the reboot had unticked it! Put the tick back in, moved off and very soon went through a camera and it still didn't work. However, a little later went through another camera and hey presto it worked. Looks like it takes a little while to reset after the reboot. Hope that helps anyone else still struggling.

You see I've never, ever done that with my car(s), rightly or wrongly on the understanding that I'd then have to re-programme some potentially lost settings?
As far as this speed camera issue is concerned I have only done the 'Update apps and services' from the 'Options' button and don't seem to have lost any functionality of the speed camera app. Strange? Maybe my car hasn't been affected (has fingers crossed!) or it was a momentary loss of service or app update that has been performed and I haven't been aware of it maybe because it happened in the background whilst not using the car or I've accidentally pre-empted it by doing the 'Update apps' thingy without realising? ![]() |

Mine isn’t working either over a week and I’ve rebooted my idrive twice. Now I’m in my hubs X5M and his ain’t working either. Wtf… I live in nyc so this is well needed here..
any advice??

Hello All, I have been having the same issue for the past two weeks. I reached out to BMW genius (last Thursday) as I have been having separate continuous issues with the red light / speed camera app before. According to the BMW genius the network that handles the speed and red \light camera app has been down for about 2 weeks. They are working on getting it back up and running. Not sure if it is a world wide issue as I didn't ask. Now I wonder if they will extend everyone's service for the time the network has been out. Probably not. Criminals. lol
