All I know is whenever I show pics of the G22 and G8X to non car people the overwhelming majority say they don't like it and its look un-BMW. I try not to influence them and say anything. I just randomly will ask, "hey, have you seen the new 4 series or M3/4?" None of them of course have so when I pull up a pic, its like, "are you serious?" And its like, I can't help but laugh and say yeah, no new M3 for me this round. I'm gonna wait for the hybridized version in 7-8 years that'll do 0-60 in 2.5 seconds and gets 600 miles to a charge/fillup and hopefully won't look like a bad copy of a Audi/Lexus/Infiniti.

I know how you feel, I had the same exact sentiment the second I saw the look of the new G-Generation 2 Series, thinking; how the hell are they going to morph this dumpster fire into a palatable-looking M2..

I'll unlikely be buying the G80/82 M3/4. Not just for the looks ... but because it has grown over 4 inches

My next M Car will likely be the G series M2C ... hopefully they put in the S58 engine

Meanwhile ... I'm really enjoying the M2C

I do the same thing but do not tell them it is a BMW. So far no one has even recognized it as a BMW.

A part of me wonders if I'm just biased as an F80 owner so I started doing it as a keeping it real check. Turns out it only validated how many of us feel, BMW fan or not.

I believe it was due to conforming with pedestrian safety laws in Asia.. I also thought at the time the f8x came out that it would look so much better if the hood went to the edge of the car

The kidney grill has been elongated/stretched to the point that it no longer resembles the iconic design. The front headlights don't resemble anything BMW has done before. The rear looks Japanese. I'm looking at this car and the only thing that is BMW is the badge. This is way worse than what Bangle did to the 7 series back in the day.

I don't get the size increase. They're out of lower numbers to keep making things bigger then creating new ones underneath.

And yet, they made the 6 the 8. So why wasn't this 4 a new 6 and keep the 4 the size it was?

I'm anxiously awaiting the 2022 BMW 040i and 2028 -240i.
