I can forgive the ugly front massive bbq lung grills cause it's atleast still "BMW" styling.
BUT what i can not forgive is them screwing up the Holfmeister kink in the window area!!!!! Ughhhh I tried so hard to like this car but I just cant. |

Change is necessary & inevitable, but drastic changes to an established brand is very risky. Porsche learned that and reverted to similar 993 cues with the 997. Only time will tell, but it is here to stay for a bit so we must embrace it or skip this model for several years.

The side and back look nice. But really though, the back reminds me of Lexus. While the front reminds me of Bugs bunny. :

As the owner of two F32 435i coupes, before my G30 540i, I need to get this off my chest:
- the front grill is the most obvious area to criticise. I need not repeat what so many others have already said. - But WHAT was BMW thinking creating another, smaller, grill immediately below the kidney grill and between it and the lower edge of the front fascia? - The almost complete eradication of the Hoffmeister kink in the C-pillar is truly scandalous. I remember seeing F42 coupes with brushed aluminium (yes, that's how I spell it) window trim and thinking how wonderful that specific area looked. No more. Now, the new 4 looks like an Audi A5. Audi's C-pillar interpretation has long been an area of complete turn-off for me. - Say goodbye to BMW's wonderful side aspect flame surfacing. Now, we have a lumpy pudding to behold. And, while I'm at it: the haunches, which were so nicely defined in the F32, now look completely unremarkable. Like a Mercedes C-class coupe, from the same angle. - Why can't we have a side "air breather" vent, like before? Why must we be content with an evocative little crease behind the front wheel? Was the vent not functional all along? - The rear end of the car is not that bad. |

For me it doesn't matter if it looks like a mustang, A5 or whatever, nowadays cars look often similar in some way....
But what I personally and definitely see here is just an ugly, unbalanced & huge car... |

The Mustang has a more BMWish side profile bc of the Hoffmeister kink vs the G22. Here's to throwing out a signature BMW design element for the sake of "change". What's next? Getting rid of the blue and white roundel and using just basic lines? Oh wait...

* Are functional Air Breathers indeed improving aerodynamics as BMW has been claiming? In which case they surely should have included them on the 3er/4er given the competitive advantage they offer in a brutally harsh industry and a CO2 emissions global hysteria (if needed, in a discreet manner, without the decorative trim found on other models). * Or are functional Air Breathers offering no measurable benefit and are they merely a design gimmick (BMW goes to the trouble and cost of designing and manufacturing them even when they aren't functional, e.g. X3) which they've now started to grow out of? Which implies that the initial claim was a scam |

I mean really it's the mustang that reminds me of a bimmer. Bimmer's been doing the long swoopy coupe thing way before Ford got their shit, I mean mustang, together. |

Hmmm.. don't know how I feel about this model... Proportions are throwing me off... 😬😬😬 just doesn't look right! If I have to keep staring for it to grow on me, then you lost me! Kind of relieved , I was a little annoyed that the coupe wasn't available when my lease was up! M340 not looking so bad now! 😂😂😂

God damn that's a long wheel base. E46, 1M, M2 have the perfect wheel base(s) for playfulness IMO. My F82 was already at the limits of what I wanted out of a chassis to "rotate" through the twisties. This things gotta change direction like a yacht in a pond.
