Let's hope that this hideous design doesn't leave BMW up that river without a paddle...

I'm done with BMW if the next M3/M4 looks like that.

Well, now that the G22 concept is out, there's no denying that the G80/G82 will have a similar front grill.

Dude, based on the new 4, we need an updated render of the M3 ! 😅

My only question to this design is, where are they gonna put the radar now? 🤔

Does it matter? It's just putting lipstick on a pig at this point unless BMW wakes up. Firs they screwed up with their EVs and now they're copying Audi and Lexus. I say they have an identity crisis

I completely disagree with you! I think it’s a matter of taste and I totally love the new grill and design overall, apart from the rear... I can’t say I don't like the rear but it just looks a bit busy... anyways it will probably look better in the production model. You have to realize that from the marketing perspective bmw cars are getting boring with their same old design and they have to work really hard to bring us something new... BMW finally decided to step out of their comfort zone which is a good thing, not a bad thing. All you people that are constantly complaining about the new designs are going to end up loving this design and buying all those new cars until they come up with their next design and your complaints will start again. Enjoy life, accept the change and learn to love it! If you don’t like it, there are older models and other cars to choose from!

Except that actually fit the car perfectly.

Maybe. But then again people weren't complaining nearly as much about the F80 design when it was released

Check out this old thread with F80 renders and reactions: https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=726356

We had two previous generations of beasts. Now this.
So what did you guys expect, I don’t understand, another F80 looking M3? Put the same F80 grill on the G80 and I congratulate you as you now have an LCI of an old M3! No thank you, we had plenty of those before... Another great future of the huge grill design is cooling and I am almost 100% certain that this thing will not be so hot anymore!

What people expected was an M3 based on the G20, just like previous generations where based on the base 3'er. Yes BMW is going a different direction with the 4, but I think they should have stayed more conservative with the sedan.

P.S. Before someone makes the comment I do believe the F80 front end was based on the "coupe" front end, but it still resembled the F30.

People should've never expected that because we've known for many, many, MANY months that the 4 was modeled with large vertical kidney grills, and since the last few iterations of M3/4's have been based on the coupe front end, it should be no surprise to anybody that the next ///M will follow that same approach. Anybody who expected it to look like the 3 was just being purposely stubborn.......like a virulent toddler.

In the end it doesn't matter what you expect. What matters is most people dislike the look of this car.

A vast majority of people who buy M3s are passive consumers so they aren't actively predicting the looks of the next M3. Yet, I have a strange feeling they will also dislike the looks.

Besides, if I'm paying 60k+, I shouldn't have to expect a car to look a certain way so I can make myself learn to like it. An M3 is supposed to have charisma on its own. That's why people buy them.

I have a distaste for stupidity and that's what BMW has done here.
