And the proportions will look like the 1 series sedan F52 availiable in China - too tall, too narrow, front too short.

And the F30 also looked strange on the ring - deep in the springs just looks weird:

I am still keeping mine F30 2018 …

I'd doubt it - there's also meant to be a 2 series gran coupe with RWD that's based on the 2 series coupe, so you'd assume there will be 2 and 4 door M2s based on that chassis.

The general design of the vehicle is not unpleasant, but some elements are so missed ... I can't believe this design comes from BMW; it's disconcerting. For me, the "Lexus-Audi taillights" is unforgivable.

The increasingly larger grilles really bothers me. The new generation of X looks hideous.. reminds me of when Ralph Lauren made their logos ridiculously large on their classic polos... just shocking.

They can't build enough of them. In the part-year since launch they sold 35,000. The problem BMW has is that it's not All-American and building honest-to-god 8-litre Camaros for you. But it's ok; you have more opportunities to denigrate it because it's so successful it's now being built and sold in Mexico. Maybe they will bring a short, stumpy, ghey little 218d to the land of the free for target practice

M Sport G20 3 Series Spotted in Action

The US is 14% of all of BMWs global sales only behind China. I think it's ok to have an opinion on an ugly car without saying it must be an 8 liter Camaro to satisfy Americans. They may sell a lot of them but that's more the case of those places having excessive taxes on consumption, congested cities, or just plain bad taste.

Yay. BMW sold 35,000 ugly as Fuck crapola cars in China. Quite the achievement. Sales figures mean nothing to me in a market that buys shit cars for status/badge.

Did I just say that. Fuck I live in a market like that

For the record I like German turbo cars

Yep. That's life. (Or not, if you're from New Hampshire, perhaps.) BMW would be stupid not to satisfy demand there.

And I'm pretty sure that your personal views mean sweet fuckall to the buyers of those pieces of shit as well

If BMW stopped making these cars because they upset some people living in a tax-free world who demanded that they make cars that clock up 6-minute 'Ring times and no others, that wouldn't just be a problem, that would be fucking retarded.

Looks very good. Even that weird headlight design is growing on me (not by choice)

Wow... I'm speechless! This car could've been done much better. The grill looks way too big for the front end. There's something weird about the front bumper I can't quite figure out. That lower upswept line on the side was unnecessary and just plain ugly. Did the current production Nissan Maxima designer have a hand in this? At least the interior looks awesome.

The ONLY thing that is growing on me is the headlights, but then you zoom out and it's part of this clusterfuck of a design that makes no sense.

The only thing that will save this car is it's driving characteristics. If this car doesn't have them, or it drives the same as an F30 then BMW will loose a HUGE chunk of their buyers.

To be honest, I'm not convinced this will sell like hot cakes. The general buyer out there is a "badge buyer" and I think Mercedes has a lot of that going on right now. And when the general consumer sees this car in person I think a lot are going to sway to Audi or Mercedes just because their competing cars look "more put together"

I don't think so - AFAIK the 2 series gran coupe will be based off the UKL FWD platform (unless they segment by market). If that is indeed true (and I have seen nothing disproving that except your quote above), that pretty much also rules out a 4-door M2 as the UKL platform has no space for the 6-cylinder engines.

Wow...Not that Ive looked closely at a Stinger, but I never noticed until this picture how Kia had incorporated the kidney grille into the design of their grille....they just didnt complete the kidney in the center.

Its really no wonder that every sedan looks like every other sedan on the road. They really do copy each other in some way or another.

I have to say automakers make some lackluster to ugly cars these days
is there any excuse for this stuff.. and I'm not talking just the sport sedan segment
like the KIA stinger.. they need to break into this segment and got nice driving dynamics but imo the looks are lacking
alot of the cars I see on the street.. UGLY or just plain uninspiring
look at the giulia..

Even that doesn't move the game on from the design of the 156 and 159. Lovely looking cars, that didn't unfortunately much move the game on for Alfa in reliability terms. However, as the 156, 159 (and 166, Brera, Coupe, 146, 147, Mito and Guilietta) didn't make it to north America, some people think that those cars didn't exist, and I just made them up.

OK, joking. You missed some great-looking but sub par cars, such as these:
