m240nj, check your order to see if the MPE is still on the build sheet. If it is then you're good. I know someone that has a M340 waiting to be built with an April prod date that had the MPE, that had it taken off his build sheet .

Just checked and it's still listed as an added option on mybmw.com. I guess I'm good? Wonder if this is going to delay delivery. Probably on backorder because everyone purchasing a 2021 is getting it. Smart move by BMW to tune down the exhaust so that everyone buys the MPE now.

It won't delay the delivery any more than the install. It sounds like you already have an allocation for your part waiting for you at port, so they didn't take it off your order. Same with GD, you guys SHOULD be good. Best thing to do is to contact your Sales Advisor, and have them verify. As we know the BMW site has lag/delay in updating.

Also, terrible move by BMW. Its a shit show there. Most new models don't come with passenge lumbar support due to part shortages, and same thing with the HK sound system... Since you guys are all in the shipping stage, I think you made the cut on all of those things... Your build sheet is king, the one from the SA, not the site Good luck!

Mine was ordered with MPE back in October. Delivered 12/28 without MPE. They were on back order at the port and everywhere else. Finally got it installed late February at the dealer with no additional cost. Dealer sent videos of the process on my car- very cool.

Just to let you know that here in Canada it is also not possible to order the MPE at this time. From what I was told the supplier is unable to meet the demand. This can always be added at a later date.

My first post! Just confirming that the MPE is temporarily unavailable as a custom order, at least until the car reaches VPC in the states. I ordered my M340i and the salesperson forwarded me this notice from BMW manufacturer. I can't decide if the MPE will be worth it, or too loud for my taste, especially when driving in comfort setting.

Also, the lumbar support supply is still limited (confirming what another has stated) and is only available on the driver's seat but not the passenger.

Have an M340i at the port that was supposed to have MPE but was never successfully added with this shortage. So bummed...I honestly almost am considering moving up to an M3 but the deals out there still stink.

I just took delivery of a M440 and I asked about the MPEs, looks like they will be arriving in Germany as early as this weekend and I was able to put an order in for one through the dealer. Probably wont get here for another month or so, but it sounds like they may be opening up soon.

Here in Canada the MPE was also on back order but my dealer advised me that we could now get them in 48H. I just added it to my order for an m340i which is supposed to arrive next week.

Not at all. When at low RPM's in comfort mode it is not loud and once cruising in the higher gears you will not hear much inside the car.

The cold start is a different story.... but I love it!

The MPE was on back order when I ordered my car with it port installed. Dealer installed at no extra charge when the MPE came in a few weeks after I took delivery, so shouldn't be a problem if you order port installed and they are unavailable when your car arrives.

I just received my 2021 M340i 1 week ago with MPE and I can tell you that it makes a huge difference. It burbles quite a bit and sounds great in Sport Plus. It even burbles at times in Comfort. I only have about 500KM on it so far and have limited my driving to stay under 4500RPMs during the break-in period. Can't say how it sounds at revs higher than 4500 but below, it sounds great. I hesitated quite a bit between getting Dinan vs MPE but I think that MPE for now is good enough for me.

Wholeheartedly agree. The MPE adds enough emotion and exhaust feedback to give the car a run ride delivery no matter how you're driving. I've heard the exhaust with a stock 2021 and it isn't even close. The $1,950 amortized over 3 years (or daily for that matter) is worth it to me. Enjoy!

Mine arrived at my dealer today!! I unfortunately have to wait a few days for install until I get back from some travel, but I plan to have it before the weekend! I haven't seen much discussion on here about it on the '21 M440, I am assuming it will be about the same as on a 340 though.
