I wish theyd just make the firmware downloadable on a PC so we could side load via USB.

Does anyone know if US dealers have this update yet? I've been waiting for Android auto since I got my car and want to get the update asap. I know some people in the UK have it but haven't heard of any in the US.

Couldn't agree more. They do it for map updates which are far bigger so why not for firmware? Save all the hassle and everyone asking dealers to update. Madness.

I have a US-spec G20 here in the Netherlands... Some BMW Connected stuff works (which surprised the heck out of me), but I'm not sure this type of update is going to work. I guess I'll see what happens over the next few weeks. |

My car is at the dealership still since they are waiting for the passenger air vent part that broke. I told them that in CarPlay when you mute a playback source it does not resume and my iDrivd randomly reboots. They are not planning to update the software...
Any other issues that have been found in the software that is addressed in the latest 7/2022? Currently on 11/2019.70 |

Hi,
For anyone who has received the 07/20 software update, two quick questions: • First, does include previous updates (like Drive Recorder & Spotify)? • Does the ParkMobile App now work? Thanks!

I got an update notification yesterday. Was super excited about 07/2020 and guess what, it wasn’t it. It was 11/2019.70 when I had 11/2019.50. A tiny upgrade. I could have cried - I was excited about the updates :-(

The only update I'm looking forward to is the one with AA. Else I'm sticking to my 07.2019.38. No issues so far and I have everything I need
Though it would be nice if my car let me know that there was an update. Apparently mine still says no update.

I just read this on Android Police:
"To my surprise, the Android Auto update had in fact been loaded onto the car when I got it back." (from the dealer.) "It seems like this update can only be performed by the dealer, given that the remote software upgrade menu had told me my software was up-to-date when I checked." This is all over the place too, seems like no method to the madness that I can decipher for the roll out. Some folks did an OTA, others through the dealer, and others yet where there's no OTA and dealers are completely unaware too. Regardless, if AA is buggy and crappy then this update is pretty useless to me.

Just got a call from the dealer. Brought my car in and they were unable to program it. "Link flap failure" whatever that means. My SA says they are putting the latest version on, but doesn't know what that is. Fingers crossed it's 07/2020, I wouldn't mind the turn directions from CarPlay in my HUD.

Once everyone has that installed then 07.2020.XX will roll out OTA at the end of 2020. Unless you have an issue with your car and the dealer updates the software to 07.2020. Dealers won't just update it for AA, they/you need to find a reason like issues with iDrive etc.

Hmmm...news to me. I have 07.2019.XX, so based on the info you provided, I guess I'll have to wait till the end of the year.

I think it's wise to wait a few months before installing 07.2020, all software is buggy in the first releases, so I guess we'll have to wait for Oct-Nov before we get a stable version. Otherwise, instead of one we'll have to pay two or three visits to the dealer.

Bit of a novice question, what is the difference between a software update and a software integration level update or are they interchangeable?
