G22 pricing?

I reached out to the largest of the three local BMW dealers in the area with a few questions about ordering the new M440ix, The sales advisor was very helpful and answered all my questions. Then he promptly told me they have no reservations yet and that a $500 deposit would put me at the top of the list for their first allocation, of course he added the deal would be MSRP plus $199 administration fees.

I’m thinking the grill should get me a couple % off, LOL, but more importantly, I’m not paying any admin fees for someone to shuffle paper and type up a title application.

What’s a common price for the first edition of a new generation BMW?

Honestly, supply and demand. You don't have very much leverage to dictate what to pay in the first 2-3 months of release/production. There are a few exceptions, but if you are asking this question, I'd presume that you don't have any special contacts at any dealerships.

Let the demand die out for a fews months. This isn't a limited edition car, so it's not going to sell out no matter how urgent the dealer makes it seem. I'll bet that after 3-4 months you'll get that car for invoice or a few hundred over invoice and there will be a few g's in incentives.

Wait six months and you can probably get 7-8% off MSRP with significant incentives. Unless you can live with paying a huge premium to be the first one on the street I'd just wait the few months. Just my two cents. Good luck!

Usually MSRP.......I waited 18 months for my e39 M5 at msrp and found people paying $10 to $20k over msrp when I took delivery....similar situation with e90 M3 and my first year M2

I'd bet the winter (christmas) sales will be the first time we'll see prices dip below MSRP for the G22. I've got my eye on one too and am eagerly awaiting my chance to place an order, but paying an extra $8k-$10k just to have one a few months earlier than everyone else is a nonstarter for me.
