I like the color but the rest of the car is

I'll be honest there is nothing there that makes it look like a BMW. It looks like it a mix of a sporty hyundai and lexus.

You wanna bet that 7 years from now we will look at your F82CS vs your G82 in the same way as we now can compare with your E92 in your sig...handsome but a bit tired

Technology is always moving forward but sometimes design takes a step back. I haven't seen it in the flesh yet but from picks and comments seems like we are going backwards like the Bangle butt era.

I'm 100% positive many people said the same about the E92 when it came out:

A V8? Wat?
It's so big. Looked bloated.
And on we go.

If you could define what makes an M3 an M3, I'd love to know. Is it a 2 door? 4? Inline 6? V8? Does it have turbos? A DCT? A stick? How about all-wheel drive?

No car with such history has evolved in such a way. The vette just made its first big change since its inception. The 911 is a rear engine flat 6 forever. Icons don't usually evolve all that much.

So when you say "to much change" I say, that's all the M3 has ever done, and that's what makes each generation so special.

yeah man. it can be a good looking car, but it's just not a BMW. BMW outdid themselves with the f32/82 coupe.

and in the end it will grow on everybody, especially once out in the wild. Enough people will buy it and NO, your F82 will not increase in value...
and the world will keep turning
if it doesn’t sell well enough, a facelift will make sure it does

for me, after being thrown off in the beginning i think it looks like it could look quite good. and i say “could” because ill wait until i see it in person.
some quite risky design changes, i agree, but i remember when people were going crazy over the iphone 5 being too big and the max being too huge and on and on and on, in the end everybody has it and appreciates it

The side profiles of the car do look great, I think it is growing on me the look but chances of me being a potential customer for this car is slim.

Looks like they've been driving hard in efficient mode. One side of the tips are super clean while the other is dirty.

Not so sure. The G22/82 is abandoning many signature BMW design cues all at once. That being said, I don't buy a car principally for the looks, driving dynamics come first for me.

I didn't. I was actually very excited about the E92 M3 when it came out, especially about the V8, and happily traded my beloved E46 M3 for it. Just the same way I happily upgraded to the turbocharged F82. This time though, I am much less excited, what we have seen from the G82 design so far just does not do it for me. However, as I posted above, driving dynamics are what is most important to me. In my view, the common denominator of all M3(4) generations thus far is the ability to provide a dual use car: practical daily driver and track toy. The recipe used has evolved, but that basic design intent has remained. If the G82 is still the best at this, I will likely be getting one despite my discomfort with the looks. With the E46, E92 and F82, there was no questions, I bought the cars without even test driving them, my faith in ///M was that strong. But I have to say, it is the first time in a long that I have been looking elsewhere.

Those side skirts are very E92-like and I don't know if that's a good thing or not.
