No doubt the G82 is going to be a big step up from the F82 in terms of performance. But there's no getting away from the fact that it's 'overgrown' and looks wise way too much of a departure from previous 3/4 series coupes. Also its lost too many of the heritage Bmw design cues.

I'm sure it will be a great car but it just doesn't look like a Bmw

You know, I was thinking the same thing but what are the other options for rwd, seats 4-5 and with decent boot.

Everything else you might as well keep the F8x and only other option being 991.2 which spec'd as I prefer with CPO is another 20k here, less boot space and rear seats are impractical.

The look aggressive enough for kids across the globe to treat them like a damn running board as they climb into the back.

Not immature, if buyers let this slide then what's next? Brand loyalty dilutes quality

It's a bit harsh to imply that anyone who says this grille is growing on them is only doing so because they are blinded by brand loyalty. I am sure that pretty much all of the people that are saying this are just being honest and genuine about their "journey". I don't think it has anything to do with brand loyalty in most cases.

The lines trailing from top corners of grill out hood do give a nice continuity and flow as seen on the recent track pace car look release

Side profile looks very R35 crossed with Mustang to me. Not a fan overall, but I'm not the target buyer as it's way too big for my tastes anyway, then again I consider my M2 a bit of a tank also.
I'm sure they'll sell plenty. No doubt due to the big changes in styling direction it will bring some new owners to the brand & lose some current owners too.
With the continual increases in size/weight I'll be interested to see if in years to come the pre-2020 era will grow to become somewhat of a golden era of German performance similar to that of the pre-2000 era of Japanese performance.

Damn I see this generation M4 had the potential to be a great styled car. But what a big let down the front end!!! Is. The side and back is pretty good. The more I try to like it the more I find myself looking at the F82 and my E90///M and loving this styling more.
