Garage List
M340d available from April 2020

I’m not sure if I’ve seen a post on this, but I have just downloaded a G20 brochure, and listed is a M340d xDrive with 340bhp, 0-60 4.6 seconds. Priced from £49,505 on the road plus options.

Yes, that is correct. A 340D will be soon.

£6k more than the 330d xdrive and only half a second quicker. Not sure it's worth the extra from a performance point of view.

Perhaps, I was able to buy my 335d in 2014 and the 'little' extra over the 330d appeared to be worthwhile.
I wonder what the true cost difference would be if the 330d was specced as the M340d? then what discount? I'm sure the 330 will get the same 48v battery quite soon if the world is ever the same again!

I am swapping my F10 535d for an M340i. The 535d is a fantastic car. Effortless driving and amazing economy, it never missed a beat. Such a great engine, it even sounded ok, but no where as good as 40i engine!

Yes website was updated on 01 April. I was able to order a G21 340d at the start of February. It was due to be built at the end of April but at moment I have no idea when it may be built. Understandable, in the circumstances it's a minor inconvenience and I can wait.

Something to look forward to, amidst the devastating gloom.

That's nice that you have it to look forward to. I picked my new car up a couple of weeks before lock down so now it's just sat looking nice.

I'm with V330d on this one. Spec the M Sport Plus pack on the 330xd to get the 19s, adaptive suspension and LSD and the M340d price differential is just £3,030 or 6.5%. I'd pay that for the engine upgrade. ETTO of course though.

Possibly the discounts on a M335d could be more than a 330d. Then the gap would be even smaller.

They need to discount it somewhat else who would pay £50k for a diesel.

Considering Audi have gone back to diesel for the S4, S6 and SQ5 I’d say quite a few people will. Diesel isn’t going anywhere yet.

As a former 335d owner the M340d sounds a hell of a car to me.

I’ve had a 435d and prior a 335d

The m340i is so much better, it’s a beast and the tech works quite well, except the wiggle your finger which is v hit and miss

At what cost? 40 mpg down to early 20’s must hurt the wallet....

I have an M340i but miss the low down torque of the 335d.

Makes me sad in Australia we only get the 320d, not the 330d or 340d. I believe the last time we had a 330d was in the E90s.

I think the M340i would feel underwhelming to me after having so many diesels. The M340d though, that is now on my radar come LCI time
