Mechanical repair coverage (3rd party warranty)

Hello BMW family,

Looking for some insight for those who have 3rd party warranties. I have Schoolsfirst Credit union and they have a mechanical repair coverage option for your vehicle. Just bought 2019 330i xdrive w/27k miles in portimao blue. It has the msport and executive package, really wanted the laser lights. They have 3 different tiers with platinum covering majority of everything including advanced technology and silver, gold. They quoted me the following options and would like your opinions. There are other options for months but these are the ones I am interested in most. I have attached a pdf that shows what's covered under each tier. I really would like platinum but the most miles is at 75,000. Choosing silver gets most everything mechanical covered (including turbochargers) and max is 90,000. My concern is if I choose platinum and after 75,000 miles something mechanical needs to be repaired I won't be covered. On the other hand if I choose silver at 90,000 then the advanced technology is not covered.

Platinum:

Months Miles Deductible Price
72 75,000 $250 $8,043

72 75,000 $500 $6,412

60 75,000 $250 $7,332

60 75,000 $500 $5,847

60 60,000 $250 $5,172

60 60,000 $500 $4,138

Silver:

72 90,000 $250 $6,030

72 90,000 $500 $4,813

72 75,000 $250 $4,617

72 75,000 $500 $3,697

60 75,000 $250 $4,213

60 75,000 $500 $3,380

I know you are asking about 3rd party warranties - but if you are also considering the BMW warranty I would highly recommend you contact forum member GOLFFRR for a quote on the different options available for your car.

He's with Steve Thomas and the pricing he offers forum members is pretty amazing compared to what other dealers are charging.

Just my 2-cents, hope it helps
