Its nice when something new just make you appreciate what you already have. This one makes the previous 2 generations look that much better.

I actually think one of the three German makers will make the shift to a simple, clean and subtle design at some point and be rewarded by consumers...as usual, the rest will follow like rabid dogs.

I think some aftermarket work
could salvage the G20 specifically in the grille area
its just too bad it cant show up as a stunner as default

the more I look at it it appears the grille makes the car look bigger than it is

Not sure about that, many already say Audi and some BMW designs are toned down, too plain and boring. Take the BMW G30, some criticise the design as being uninspiring. The F10 was said to be too reserved in its design... and the G30 is toned down. ?

Going to be hard to please forum users. Too little change and there is "no progress", a change in design language, more a revolution and "BMW have lost the plot".

What do enthusiasts really want? To be honest, I don't think many really know what they do want. Some appear to only know how to be negative, on whatever comes along.

Then that is nothing new. E9x models were highly criticised at launch, now many rate them as the last real 3-series BMW. Best get BMW to relaunch the E46, or should it be the E30? Wait a minute, the E36 improved on the E30...

It is a good job BMW rely on the wider market for the real sales. Enthusiasts can be pretty fickle in what they think they want.

We need, excitement, feelings, passion...
What do you think the A4 or jelly bean ass C-class look sexier?

How about Mr. Owl faced Giulia?

E9x 2-door coup (the 4-door sedan doesnt look as good imo)
clean lines .. beautiful

everytime I see an E9x coup I say .. plain.. but beautifully plain.. just right.. the shape the lines the entire composition as a whole

just goes to show that more lines doesnt mean better
its what you do with them

No, I don’t. That’s my problem: wherever I look, there is no car that I really like... never thought that.
I am ready to buy the car that excites me. Now.
But is nowhere.
I like the 8 series, yet, is not very practical.
Waited for the new 3 Series and this is what we get?
Meh...

I’ll say - one forum member reckons the F30 looks a billion times better, so BMW is going to have to try eleventy thousand trillion times harder!!!

Most want their own personal car with a production run of one, individually tuned personally, made from scratch by their favourite manufacturer.

The rest want the one brown manual RWD turbo diesel station wagon. That will also make their favoured car company go bust.

Indeed so but you may not remember the absolute metric shit ton of scorn, hate and invective that came out when the sedan and coupe appeared. Urgh, flame surfacing, puke, coupe not different enough, Bangle should be murdered, etc. All vapid internet-speak. All forgotten.

I really like the way it looks - the front pictures look a bit out of proportion but probably because of the exact time the pictures were taken. The back looks surprisingly nice (as does the side profile). Love the color and the wheels

I can't get over the groove in the headlight. It entirely kills this car for me. The tail lights are also very uninspiring. Can't unsee a Lexus ass there.

Starting to look more and more like a Hyundai. Coincidentally saw a Kia at a stop light behind me. The headlight with the ring looked almost identical to the new z4.

I can't say I'm loving the tail lights. Far too "lexus" like.... I'm going to wait for the LCI. :P

I came here to say something similar, the DRLs look so similar... who copied who?

Wait to see it on the street. I am happy to see that they roll it on the Ring over and over again. Driving dynamics should be much better than F30

It was actually Ford Australia that BMW copied...

Basically their last restyle of the Falcon borrowed cues from the Mustang and Jaguar XF to make something that actually looked quite good. Throw in the 4.0L turbo inline 6 and it really should have been exported globally. The only let down was the interior as Ford had run out of money by then, so it dated back to 2002.

M2 4 door is based off the FWD mini platform, so be careful what you wish for
