Timing Chain B57 3.0l Diesel

Do these need replacing or are they for 'life'?

If it’s a chain, then no, belt yes. Chain may need re-tensioning at certain mileages but I’d assume this to be at a very high mileage.

Someone who knows for definite will be along soon.
