Blank idrive screen, no Bluetooth, no cameras - help!

I stepped into our brand new G20 today to drive home and the centre screen is blank, no audio, no Bluetooth, no reversing camera etc.
The car drives fine
The screen behind the steering wheel is working in basic mode, there is no map in the middle and the right part of the screen does not allow for any configuration
I tried to reset the idrive based on a few videos I've seen by pressing the audio power button for a few seconds
I switched off the car for more than 60 mins still no joy

Any ideas?

This happened to me you will more than likely need to go to BMW and have them reprogram the vehicle with the latest software update. I believe it is 03/3019.48

^^^ true. Give them a call first so they can plan the update. Car has to stay there for a few hours in the worst case.

It somehow fixed itself after switching off the the car for an hour 🤔 will this happen again?
Might just take it into the dealers anyway
I picked it up a week ago, surely it has the latest software right?
Is there anyway I can check what version software I actually have?

In car, settings, general settings, all the way down to remote upgrade. That tells you the current version.

Got mine mid April and was on pre release software...

Mine is a March build and shipped with .22 dealer updates to .60 but I know there is a major hotfix due out this month, I'd wait until then.

Just had mine updated after weeks of intermittent blank screens
032019.60 it used to be. 44
Can't see any differences so far

This has happened to me at least 10 times since purchase in late March. Dealer reprogrammed the vehicle and happened again within one week. The error message I receive is "reduced driver assistance". Taking it back to the dealer again. Love the car but this is unacceptable. I guess this is the price I pay for being an early adopter.

I had the exact same problem after parking and running errands. it just happened suddenly. the screen behind the wheel shows an x3 instead of a g20 and i cannot reboot the idrive. frustrating

5 month old 330e G20 needs a new IDrive

I have had similar problems with my 5 month old 330e G20 to others here. The instrument cluster shows a grey X3 and I have no use of the Sat Nav, blue tooth, radio, driver safety warnings etc. The wipers turn on without rain and whilst reversing the car will automatically slam the breaks on, without an obstruction. The dealership has advised me the car requires a replacement IDrive unit, and its a 7-10 working day lead time for it to land. It is unacceptable for a 5 month old car to have so many issues all of a sudden. By the time the car gets back to me, it will have been with the dealership for nearly a month
