Real world fuel economy for both 330i and M340i?
Hi All. Curious about fuel economy. If you own a G20, can you record your numbers in this thread?

330Xi MPG
Picked up my G20 330Xi Msport last Friday. It has 19” staggered wheels with performance run flats. I just did a 300 mile round trip from my home in Venice, Fl to Orlando. The read out said 37.3 mpg. Most of those miles were done at 80 mph. Around town, prior to the road trip, I was getting 25 mpg. Total miles on the car so far are 500. I expect the figures to improve as time goes on and things wear in. These figures are pretty close to those on the 430Xi GC I just turned in. Pretty good in my book.

Picked up my M340i last Thursday, averaged 25.2 through the first tank of fuel with a mix of highway and in town driving. Pretty much what I expected it to do.....

Fair point - my "city" driving so far has been limited to "town" driving....meaning very little traffic. One of the benefits of living in Maine: traffic is virtually non-existent with the exception of summer weekends!

For my M340i I'm also seeing around 18 in sport+ in my small town where there's little traffic but tons of lights. 25-26 in comfort mode with a mix of stop/go traffic and 70mph cruising when I was down in the city.

I'm on my second tank of gas and am getting about 22 mpg in mostly urban/suburban driving with moderately light traffic... and 95% of the time in sport. Looking forward to trying WOT.

Hi,
I have over 2K miles and long term avg is 23 MPG. It is climbing as I use it for mostly hwy commute and less "demo" driving lol. When cruising on the hwy in Adaptive I'm showing ~30 MPG+, even around 80 MPH... I'm pleased with the mileage, especially if it improves to ~25 MPG long term overall. I use Shell 93 almost exclusively. Thanks |

I have about 300 miles on a 330i.
The lifetime economy so far is 21.7mpg. That's almost exclusively short trips in the city, in stop and go traffic. I've not had a chance to drive highway for more than a couple miles at a time. So far that is just slightly better than my old 2016 GTI DSG. I'm trying to keep it below 4k rpm most of the time at least until I hit about 1000 miles, but I definitely get into the throttle at every start . I am guessing that pure highway driving will net mid 30's. |

In a 2020 M340i xDrive
In Eco-mode: What's that? In Comfort: Averaging ~24mpg (9.8l/100km) In Sport+: hahaha... depends on how you're driving, closer to 18 mpg (13 l/100km) realistically, with a blend of city/highway... ...That sound though... - you're not actually worried about mpg when rolling in Sport+, are you? The gears hang high in the RPM band, maximum availability of power, fuel pump ready-to-gush - whatever fuel is burned in Sport+ is worth it. |

2020 M340i RWD w/ ~3,000 miles. Always Shell 93.
I commute ~60 miles/day. 54 of those miles are rural, low-traffic 65-75mph highway. 6 miles are light-traffic city driving. 31.4 mpg tank average as of this morning. Seems legit, as I'm regularly seeing 450-475+ miles/tank with ~14 gallon fill-ups. Very happy with that. So on the high-end, 33-34mpg on laid-back EcoPro highway cruising at 65-75mph. On the low end, high-teens maybe touching 20 when romping around in Sport/Sport+. I don't really pay attention to MPG when in Sport mode . Last edited by Delta5; 06-28-2019 at 09:33 AM.. |

I work on the westside of Los Angeles so the commute is brutal in terms of heavy traffic. I have 500 miles on it since I took delivery and it says that I am averaging 15.6mi. I tend to use eco pro alot when in traffic.

I've been averaging about 25 mpg combined on my commute which is some stop and go and highway. Took a trip today from MD to OH through the mountains of western MD and WV and got 34 mpg in comfort. Car just broke 1,000 miles on this trip so could see it getting better in comfort on the longer trips. Really more excited to be able to take the kid gloves off now that I'm almost through the 1,200 mile break in. 😂😁

I’m getting 25-28 about 80% freeway. Still breaking in so I’m in comfort, sport, and sport plus alternating.
