What’s a realistic time that it would take to build an m440 or m340. I’m being told 3-4 months. Is that realistic? How do allocations work and are dealers honest about if they have allocations? I’m in Florida btw

If the allocation is immediately available then you should see about 3.5 months until delivery

I ordered my m340 towards the end of Sept 22 and received it around mid Dec.

I got lucky with mine. As soon as allocations hit for MY2022 I ordered it and got it in 2 months flat

Depends entirely on the dealer. I agonizingly waited a full 6 months from January this year because their allocation wasn’t allotted till March. Others however ordered in late February and got theirs a week or two before me which was fun to see in the order tracking threads. Also depends on how your order makes the cut on their ships and what options you have. If you go through the order tracking threads you’ll notice some people agonizing for a month because the transport ships weren’t able to get into port.

I ordered my M440i GC Xdrive on June 17...one month ago. My dealer finally got an allocation last week on July 12.

My M440i is now in the production queue but has not started to be built.

I'm hoping to have it by mid-October in three months or by Halloween 3.5 months.

But it could be longer or shorter.

But if you end up waiting almost a full month just to get an allocation...like me...you are looking at 4 to 4.5 months or longer.

There are a couple of variables. The type of car and the allocation your dealer gets. I was looking at a M340 and an M440 GC. I went with the M440ix GC and was told it could take longer because there are not as many allocations for my configuration.

With that said, I ordered my car April 5th, got an allocation late April, got a build date of May 22nd, and took delivery July 12th. I could have taken delivery July 8th but had PPF and ceramic coating done.

It also seems like a huge variable is time at port. Some are sitting at port 30 days or longer...others get on a ship in a day or two.

Like catching a bus...timing is everything!

I spent 9 months waiting for an M3 allocation and gave up. Two months flat for an M340i xDrive.

Ordered m340i mid April 23, picked up end of June 23 so roughly 10 weeks.
