Question Would you go from an E90 328i to a B8.5 A4?

I've found a 2014 Audi A4 with a 6-speed manual (Quattro, of course) offered for sale. I currently have a 2009 328i, 6-speed manual, too. Would you switch from a 6-speed e90 to a 6-speed b8.5? e90 - 110kmiles, b8.5 - 79kmiles.
I've test-driven B8 (2009-2012) a4s, driving experience seems to be on par with my e90 (granted, I'm not a Stig by any means). The big plus is a turbo which lets you get some more power.
What do you think?

without a turbo swap the TSI in the a4 will give you about 260hp (stage 2..aka tune+dp)

Manual to manual.

#SaveTheManuals

I like that it is newer with lower miles.

B8/B8.5 gen interior would be somewhat dated by now, but still an upgrade over an E90. The Audi would not be as engaging to drive though, but the quattro is rock solid. Fuel economy takes a hit.

I did it going from a 2006 325i to a 2014 A4 (top of the line). My thoughts:

- Audi does not compare to BMW drive feeling, especially going from E90 to B8.5
- my 2014 A4 still did not have USB ports, shows you how behind Audi is/was
- mileage was not really different
- B&O audio was the only saviour
- cant experience Quattro too much in CA, I live in Vancouver Canada, same type of climate, therfore cant take advantage of AWD.

In summary, I wish I went to a 335i

Gotcha, I'm feeling slightly the same way. That said, to me (granted, I'm not a fast driver by any means), b8.5's handling didn't feel much worse than my e90s (it's is also possible that I was just not driving a road where these differences become noticeable). Not selling my e90 yet, will keep both side-by-side or maybe sell it and get a 335i.
My primary motivation is that b8.5 will have fewer miles and has a turbo, so more oomph. But yeah, always can sell it. Was yours burning any oil?

I'd be more inclined to go the header/DISA route with your 328i. Not a fan of the low spec Audis

if you sure about the A4's history yes.. Quattro means more things to check before buying though.. other than that newer is better.. VW engines are nice..

I had my Audi only during the warranty period, so no leaks that I was aware of.

And it looks like i’m not going to b8.5. The thing had 79kmiles and timing chain was already stretched and needed a replacement. Not worth paying 13 grand for imo. This a one good, well-modded 335i, without potential oil burning issues.
