My car was driven with "Auto Brake" on

So my father took my car a few times and I explained him the auto brake feature beforehand. Well he didn't understand fully as he had the car in DRIVE and DROVE it with Auto Brake ACTIVATED. Of course you are supposed to deactivate it after you are ready to move again.

I think this happened for 2-3 days. Not long commutes but probably 50 miles total.

How messed up is my car now? Would this only damage the brakes or other stuff too?

I dont think you have anything to worry about. The parking brake is electronic on the G20. As soon as it detects you putting your foot on the peddle-it automatically deactivates. My driveway is on a hill so I put mine on when i park and then i just drive off in the morning and the parking brake light goes away. Been doing that for 3,000 miles now....

Wait are you talking about - the Auto Brake HOLD feature or the auto parking brake?

Parking brake deactivates automatically.
Unless it's auto h. Then that's fine also and does no damage anyways, only hold holds the brake after you come to a stop.

You confirm my first thought, it must automatically deactivate.

My car (F11) has the electronic parking brake. Mine doesn't automatically release, after an engine switch off. No way could you simply pull off in my car without knowing it. Very efficient, has so much resistance, plus you get a warning.

On my old tech F30 my car will ding loudly until I take the brake off. You would think the new car would do something similar.

Folks I'm talking about the new auto h feature. Where you can take your foot off the brake when there is traffic congestion and it will still hold the brake.

Auto H was activated (green light to signal it) and the car was driven the whole way with it activated. So when the car came to a stop at a red light and foot was let off the gas the car stopped fully as the auto h was on.

Really so no damage?!!

Yep no damage. That light just means the car will hold the brake only AFTER you stop. After you press the gas, brake disengages automatically. Everything's great!

There must be some collection of papers somewhere in the trunk. May be worth looking into those.
